Just a passing through Toku Fan....
A show that I recently finished and really enjoyed that started earlier this year fall is called Accel World.
Accel World is a pseudo sequel/side story to the currently running anime series Sword Arts Online. Set 24 years in the future we are introduced to Hauiyuki Arita a fat short kid who is bullied often and escapes the cruelness of reality in a full dive virtual world….were he’s a piglet. However by chance one day he meets Kuroyukihime who is intrigued by his determination to be the fastest there is and from there his world changes as he is giving a Full Dive combat game known as Brain Burst were Haruyuki’s will and spirit gives him the form of Silver Crow and is the only combatant in the entire game with the ability to fly. This thing got me interested initially is it has one of themes that always feel close to me is someone struggling protagonist who is given a chance to change his life for the better and just runs with it, but is still clumsy about it. There were times I was thinking it was going to turn into a harem anime, thankfully I was wrong and they were merely passing through characters. The supporting cast is pretty good overall and one you will just hate till the very end of the series and it’s not even the series’ antagonist! Back to the other things to say there is a fair share of Toku references all throughout the series if you know where to look and the Accel World avatar designs are very good and some are reminiscent Kamen Rider Ryuki’s suit designs. So over all I’d highly recommend this series. Look for the trailer after the jump!
