Rewatched Decade again for pure entertainment and here my thoughts...

When Decade started, I never expected too much from this show knowing that it could be flawed. Despite that, it was still good.

Unfortunately, the overarching plot had a bunch of dangling threads that never got resolved, or only got resolved in the movies. Who the hell is Tsukasa? How did Kaitou get the DienDriver? How the hell does he know about Tsukasa? What does sea cucumber have to do with ANYTHING? Admittedly, resolving major plot points in movies is smart from a financial perspective, and if the box office numbers from Movie War are anything to go by, it's probably something we'll see more often.

Yes indeed, Movie War 2010 did indeed resolve something............

Decade has NO STORY

:loltongue: :P

I plan to rewatch decade if there are subs of all riders and movie war 2010..what do you think are the crucial episodes of decade that must be seen? aside from the first episode?

Well, if you look at it from my point of view. I rewatched Decade after watching all the other Rider Shows from Kuuga-Hibiki seeing as I saw Kabuto,Den-O,Kiva and Faiz and watching Dragon Knight to conpensate for Ryuki during Decade. Decade kinda sucks. I mean I thought it was good but after watching the original show and knowing the worlds of these riders. Decade ruined some of them. Kuuga world was good, Agito world sucked, Ryuki was pretty damn good, Faiz world sucked and I love Faiz, Blade world....I gotta watch it again, Hibiki world is still the best world, Kabuto world sucked seeing as tendou version 2.0 only showed up for 5 seconds and the Clock up thing kinda doesn't make any sense in Decade. Den-O world.....That was the best they can come up with? Kiva world sucked harder and a leech on a guy's eyeball. No comment on the Showa worlds though I wished they did V3. I tell this to my brother alot and lot of you might disagree but Decade is **** without the other Riders. I mean no other Riders, No Decade, Seeing as a Decade storyline is only acceptable whenever there is another Kamen Rider within a 10 mile radius. But don't get me wrong. I loved Decade. The original Characters, Tsukasa, Natsumi the new Yuusuke, The Shinkenger Crossover and Decade's concept of turning into other riders. Though not original *cough* Akared *cough* worked without a hitch....*cough*Den-O*cough* Decade was a great season all in all. even though it was short

I really don't get the AR Rider Worlds "ruining" the Heisei Riders argument. They're alternate universes. That's like saying Ultimate Spider-Man ruins the 616 version (in fact, at the moment, it's superior), or All Star Batman and Robin ruins Batman (sure, it sucks, but it doesn't affect the original in any way). It's one thing if you think the AR Worlds are just poorly developed and poorly written (admittedly, they all only have 2 eps a piece, so considering that, I think the world building was quite good), but many people seem to dislike the fact that they are alternate worlds in the first place.

I basically see Decade as the Crisis on Infinite Earths of KR, combined with a good bit of Meta-Commentary: What makes a rider? What makes a hero? Is KR a corrupting force in the toku industry? Is it now corrupted itself? Or is it still true to its roots? All of these are rather subtly covered in the course of the series.

Because to some of them, the Rider Series has to be an absolute. However I disagree, since Decade is almost like the recent Star Trek movie, which happens to take place in an alternate timeline. When Toei made this show, they wanted to get all the Riders back together, but they had to get rid of some of the old stuff since everything was scattered all over the place. The reason for this was the producers felt keeping everything seperate was a mistake in the first place.

First of all, the premise of Star Trek 'XI' is far different from that of Decade. That movie was an origin story that avoided the "we know what's going to happen" mentality by erasing all the ST canon (while still being connected to the original timeline) and starting over. And JJ Abrams and Co. actually went out to find Leonard Nimoy and Nichelle Nichols to work on the project, and ask for their input. Toei with Decade just said "We have to clear out a bunch of old junk so just throw in some old stuff and not bother to get the old casts back. The fanboys won't care because they'll take anything we dish out. In fact they will defend us to their dying breath! >>"

At this point, it's way too late to try to bring Rider shows into one universe. The settings of each story contradict each other. And if you really wanted to do it anyway, you have to really give a damn and come up with something more thought out and meaningful than Decade. Can any of you say Decade had any meaning? Is it really going to form a lasting impression?

you are right

but some people won't see it like that, they just love to nitpick on decade, they most really hate magenta. the only way you can please these nitpicking people is by giving them something nearly perfection. but meh, who listens to them anyways.

Decade isn't that bad as some of the critics think it is.
It had some good entertainment value while it lasted.

The fighting was worth something to look for at least.

ps.If you think Decade is the worst story you have ever seen, you haven't seen a real abyssal story yet.
EDIT: though what Black Fang says from his point of a fan hater is true, flaws are flaws no matter what justifying reason.
