Power Rangers S.P.D. - Final Thoughts

LOL @ that post.

he said EXACTLY what I was thinking. i will admit, because i never seen Dekaranger, I liked SPD....to an extent.

but there were TOO MANY plot holes. and those plot holes were covered up by amazing wireworks and explosions.

Yay for getting five hours of sleep and watching the SPD finale!

Like alot of people have said already, "Endings" felt really rushed and all the stuff that could have been done wasn't. Dunno if that was either Disney's fault or whomever but when stuff like this happens and when the fans say something, somebody's bound to pick up and learn from it.

SPD is what brought me back to PR more than anything (DT sorta helped with that too...Come on, freaking TOMMY came back :P). What did it for me; In "Beginnings Part 1" when Jack morphed for the first time and fought off the Cry-Bots. I remember going itnto thinking it's just going to be the Deka footage from episode one and then all of a sudden we're treated to american stune footage with wires and REALLLY big explosions INTERLACED with the Deka footage. I think my jaw was agape in shock as I knew at that point that it was going to be reallly different this year ^_^

And it was, we had more American stunt footage! Remember back in the day all we got was maybe a twirl or a spark hit? Now we can have Rangers kick ass and take names. Now if only we'd start doing our own mech battles like back in the final episodes of Lightspeed Rescue and even the Turbo movie (that I was lucky to see during it's very short theatrical run) ..course Disney might not allow that. But then again Eisner's gone so now anything goes, right? ^_^

The cast was convincing, this means alot considering that I had been disenchanted in previous seasons by both Wild Force (I'll save that rant for another day) and Ninja Storm. Jack made a great leader, Sky was a great rival who eventually became a cool character, Z and Syd both were goregous and kicked ass in the process and Bridge was...well...I have to say it, Buttery.

So will I miss SPD? Considering that they swapped time slots on us and I missed everything after Omega's first appearance, yes. It was still a hell of a ride depite the occasional flaw. At least it didn't take a great story like those of Gao or Timeranger and just hack it to pieces (I'm sorry, I will never like Time Force no matter how much you pay me and don't get me STARTED on Wild Force).

Perhaps Disney will get the hint and start listening to the fans. Even better, maybe Toei could take center stage for whatever we get after Magi. 06 will be a year of big changes and I wouldn't be surprised if the PR franchise isn't on that list.

My Top 5 (When in Rome, right?)
1.)PRiS
2.)SPD
3.)DT
4.)Lightspeed Rescue
5.)Zeo

Take care all.

one positive thing I have to add

I honestly LOVED the transformation sequence in SPD BETTER than i did Dekaranger.

Damn right, SPD has the BEST Henshins I've ever seen in a PR/Sentai, hands down. I mean, they made the Red Ranger look cooler than in Sentai, WTF?

(And DekaRed kicked ass IMO.)

My personal gripe is that we've got these badass Henshins and I didn't get one for DekaBreak, oh well. At least I still got DekaBright. (Which blew me out of my chair.)

Yep...Kalish wasted no Deka material...LMAO

...well...except for Full Blast Custom.

Actually, he kind of did since Deka is around 50 episodes
But It's all good.
I'm happy with what we got :buttrock:
And to be honest... SPD Orange Ranger > DekaGold...

AHAHAHAH

SPD ruled. The finale was sweet. My only gripe is Doggie's wife Ailysia acted a little less animated than Doggie. But Doggie's final battle with Grumm was great. Also glad that Doggie trapped that brat Mora. As you can see, the finale was mostly all Doggie. And not that im complainin.
