Power Rangers Operation Overdrive - "Lights,Camera,DAX" Talk up!

Lights, Camera, Dax, =very good focus ep for Dax, The villan on villan action was great. Transek Armor was good too. 4/5 I am LOVING the hell out of Operation Overdrive. Keep it up.

-They've already changed the opening credits? And it's a pretty drastic change too.

-"It's only a one-day shoot." Well, Dax, one day is all it takes to take over the world. Then again, we ARE talking about Flurious and Moltor, so maybe he COULD have taken that day off.

-"The objective of acting is to not look like you're acting while you're acting." Too bad Gareth Yuen couldn't take that advice in real life.

-Ooh, Moltor has conflict with someone OTHER than Flurious. Good to see that, along with the last episode, they are also fighting with one another.

-"Those slippery slugs slipped away." Alliteration. Tee-hee.

-If I were Andrew, I'd have been A LOT more angry with Dax, especially since he did a similar thing before when he took Mira to the base. I would have fired him instead of Will, only for real.

-And oh, yeah, isn't it a little weird that Hartford, a scientist/explorer, owns a movie studio? I mean, it's not unlikely or anything, but still.

-I like how they shot Dax's movie scene in widescreen (or did they just letterbox it?), but they couldn't be bothered to do the same with the rest of the show. That's Disney for ya.

-In the end, I guess what Dax did wasn't TOO bad, as Conner did a similar thing in "Wave Goodbye." Still, that was earlier in the season, so by this point, you'd think Dax would have his priorities in better order.

-The "mini-zord" that was the Trans-tech armor was a bit lame (I'm not talking about the CGI, that's understandable). The fight itself was weak and kinda stupid. Did they actually think they'd be able to harm that thing? I know Moltor is an idiot at this point, but I figured Kamdor would have some more common sense than that. Though I guess this means that everyone will get a weapon/vehicle of their own (even the girls?). Still, I don't like the idea of this armor because it seems too... powerful. How are villains gonna stop a vehicle that can easily crush two monsters? Unless they got bigger, which at that point, they'd use the zords and wouldn't need it. See? It's too much of a deus ex machina.

-That reminds me, no zord battle. Nice.

-"Say hello to my little robot"? Damn it, I could live with the lame dialogue earlier (like "It's slammer time"), but when they bastardize SCARFACE, that's when I draw the line.

-27 bathrooms? Who the hell needs 27 bathrooms? Still, I guess it's ample punishment for Dax and Rose.

All in all, this episode was okay, better than last week's. I don't like the way Dax was acting, as this should have happened a little earlier. But considering the way the focus episodes have been working, and that it's still pretty early being the tenth episode, I can deal with it. Still, the Trans-tech armor doesn't sit well with me. All in all, I guess I give it a 3.5/5, which I'll round up or... something. I don't know.

Is it really, though? There's only a few of them in that house hold and I doubt that every single bathroom is getting used. I would bet most of them are clean just from not being used. So, realistically, they probably didnt have a lot to clean anyway.

I honestly don't see what was so bad about this episode. It wasn't spectacular, but it's by no means anywhere near as bad as I've seen people make it out to be, and it's much better than last week's episode. Sometimes I feel like the Dax hate is just getting too exaggerated at this point and people will hate anything related to the character.

It was a fun watch, I always like the "ranger duties get in the way of dreams" episode set ups. I think this one played out okay, though I'm stumped as to why Dax waited until like the very end of his shoot to go help the others. Also, as always, I'm loving Rose's character, she has such great interaction with the others, easily by favorite character this year, and one of my favorites of the past few years.

The only other thing that kinda bugged me was the Transtek, no not the fact that it looked like half bad CGI, I applaud the crew for at least trying to give us an original mech that actually looked entertaining to watch in fights. What bugged me was that Dax was chosen to be the pilot, I dunno, in Andrew's eyes, he sort of showed that he can't really be counted on, so why did he get it? I would have sent it to Mack or Ronny.

It was also nice to see the villains fighting, always a favorite sight of mine. I do wish that Miratrix and Kamdor would have been able to keep their own foot soldiers. I was surprised to see three DS monsters get wasted in this episode, that only leaves six, but with the other two factions and the fourth coming in soon, I'm sure it's more than enough considering they may not even use them all.

So, for being an entertaining, although somewhat flawed episode, it gets an "average" from me.

I haven't seen the whole episode yet so I'm not going to give it a score but here are my thoughts on what I have seen:

-New Original opening credits which are very different from the previous set, it'll have to be revised at least two more times, probably three to add Mercury, whatever the Questers are called, VoyagerDrivemax and the Knight Templar.

-hey people look LOTS of NEW NZ footage, and I mean LOTS of it. I believe almost every scene with Kando and Moltor was NZ footage as I don't recall Ryu and Yaiba interacting like this.

-Dax's fight filmed in widescreen and the complaining about the rest of the show not being done that way.... It's a reference to the fact they're filming a cheesy 70's-esque Kung fun movie. Much like why Geki does it, and Geki is why you don't film in Widescreen right now. It looks TERRIBLE.

-Transtek armor, I think this is another boys exclusive since I have yet to see any toys of the girls available. This looks kind of crappy but nice. I hope we get this instead of the bikes, that would be cool.

-The fact that they're killing off DS monsters quickly suggests that much like Bouken, the only two villian factions that actually matter are the first two.

-No Zord battle, cool. Maybe they'll switch the order around and we'll get the DaiTanken before DriveMax Ultrazord. I can hope so at least.

-27 bathrooms? Did Anton have some sort of sick fetish that we're all better off not knowing?

Well, they'd definitely be a little dusty and have a few cobwebs, but... ah, screw it, yeah, it sucked.

Also, I must say that I love how the two people who were all, "This episode was crap!" didn't provide a single reason for it.
