Power Rangers MegaForce, Ep 01 - "Mega Mission"

I have not seen the episode, but your impressions comfort me.

I was quite disappointed Samurai (even though I do not consider it the worst season I require a little like because it is the adaptation of Shinkenger and I loved this season and especially its sixth ranger was more or less well played in Power Rangers version).

I hope it restarts fine. I saw the opening in Youtube (omg, what is that funny director xD), and it is, but I can not watch quietly without seeing Liveman, Flashman, Battle Kenya (WHAT ???) in the opening, but its nothing at the bottom.

I hope the rangers yellow and black are good, because I was a fan of duet GoseiYellow / GoseiBlack (even if ultimately Goseiger did not have a great script)

MEGAFORCE!

This...might actually be good. Not really wanting to put my hopes up but, everything so far looks pretty well done. I'll put my judgement of the show after the first few episodes, cause right now I'm still unsure of what the show can bring.

It was a great start, though here's the pros:

-High school setting.

-The acting is much better.

-Cast isn't that bad.

Cons:

-I want more bullies like in MMPR and the teenagers to be, teenagers.
- the Wall-E throwback....why not an Alpha-like robot in looks?
-Gosei. Why couldn't they make the command center like in Zeo at least? It felt like a hole in the wall rather than some thing a student of Zordon would possibly use.

-With how Gosei is handled, it makes me wish they went Lost Galaxy on this show. While in high school , they are aliens/human teenagers from the command center in the sky destined to become the rangers of the Earth, who were trained during Samurai and then disconnected from their mentor at the sky high center.

The episode was way better than Samurai and the actors were decent.Alot of mmpr references but it was kinda expected abit.I hope it continues to be good and not poor. The opening still kinda wtf at it since its just the samurai theme but just adding megaforce altogether and stuff

They don't recognize the other rangers, when there was literally an active set of power rangers not a month ago.

A wizard did it!

My rationale is that a Timeforce ranger sought out a Mysticforce ranger and had everyone's minds wiped of all the bad things that have happened for the past 20 years or so. Or surpressed maybe. Only those that are former rangers or humans with extra sensory perception can remember.

Plus, if they had been aware of other rangers, you'd get unnecessary geek out moments from the resident blue nerd or snarky quips like in Ninja Storm. Imagine the PR equivalent to Gokai Silver... I do not want...

It's hard to gauge this series so far, as this episode reeeaaaly needed to be a two-parter. Things felt rushed, so we didn't get much character development, though I do like what we did get, even if Blue is an idiot (seriously, robots? he's worse than Ethan from Dinothunder).
As for the bit with the Legend War at the beginning, I think it worked, though only as part of some big foreshadowing, though time will tell how that plays out
This episode also seemed to have a bigger visual budget, as the CG robot (I forget his name) was well-animated and I love the teleportation effects. It's also nice to see a mentor picking teenagers for all the RIGHT reasons. What's better is that these kids aren't goodie-goods like the Samurai rangers
Again, though, this episode felt very rushed and deserved a two-parter (seriously Saban, this is your 20th anniversary season, I think you could find the money to do so), and while I think it's too early to judge it as a whole, I do have hope for this series.

It was a great first episode, I do wish that they showed the second episode as well but with that being said, it was good first episode. I'm liking all of the characters so far, I haven't memorized all their names just yet but I do agree the legendary war footage does feel out of place now actually seeing the entire episode.

I did feel like I was watching MMPR but in a good way. Hopefully the show will find it's own voice in the long run. Overall great episode and I can't wait for next week.

I like how my DVR only starts recording RIGHT AFTER the Legend War scene at the beginning is all done.

I thought they OD'ed with the "Day of the Dumpster" references. They really didn't need that many. I hope they don't continue on with these references too much throughout the whole season. I was also actually disappointed with how they called the hangout owner Ernie. I actually thought this one reference to Lost Galaxy was nice though, when one of them referred to Gosei as a "freaky tiki". Anyway, all other things in the episode were cool with me.

Great First Episode :anime:
It has Good actions scenes,I like it more than Samurai but i dislike Earths Defenders Never Surrender line
Also i like that they showed the Ranger Keys and The Legend War
I like the Black Megaforce Ranger and Blue Megaforce Ranger
