Also dont forget JF airs at a slightly later time tonight because of the PRJF marathon. Instead of the new ep airing at 8/7pm it airs at 9/8pm. Just an fyi in case anyone is TiVo'ing it or something

Mr. Underachiever can add the poll. It's right at THREAD TOOLS.

And thanks, Ryoutarou for changing the titles.

Okay here we go with my world famous recaps..

-New opening titles including Jungle Master sequence.
-JaroShi works out his frustrations in a very reasonable way. By pummeling Rinishi.
-Camile introduces a new warrior and he's a real pig.
-JaroShi blames the Overlords for his loss and promptly gets smacked down.
-Fran gloats, Casey wonders about buttons, and Lily is considerate enough for everyone.
-RJ is having chest pains, he needs Life Alert STAT!
-Casey stole GO-ON Green's Scooter, DAMN HIM.
-Casey gets butt-slammed on a pizza delievery. No Joke. Sausage and ham time.
-Fran ...falls.
-Hog boy is busy beating up spark strips.
-"A pretty Gnarly Pig". That is so not Pudgy Pig.
-JUNGLE MASTER MODE.
-BACON for all!
-Jungle Master Megazord plus Spirit of the Shark.
-One smoked ham.
-Rinshi Porcupine has quills special powers.
-Okay JaroShi knows who the last Overlord is. That's new I think as I don't recall offhand if Rio knew who Mako was before meeting him.
-Considerate but not a bird lover.
-Lily's mad and what good does punching a porcupine do?
-Fight with Porcupine Rinshi is part NZ and Sentai footage.
-Wow those quills are big.
-"Don't tell me how to act, ...blue boy." Oh cue the music.
-Another Pulled muscle or is it... Cue Shirt rippage. And RJ HULKS OUT. (not really).
-Hey Camile found the same cavern Leelee did. (again not really but close)
-FULL LEATHER LILY.
-And the guys can't... say what Lily looks like because of... well she isn't... she's turned into a Biker chick... yeah. Still points for the homage to Kimberly from "Power Punks", just look at the hairstyle and lipstick.
-Theo and Casey leave to find RJ but only find his shaving utensils what could this mean?
-Fran tells Lily to get her feet off the couch and quit using her razor to shave with. And to put the toliet seat down.
-Theo and Casey vs Jon Talbain who kicks the crap out of them. Bet RJ's actor had fun in the recording booth with that one.
-"Naw they're big boys, they can look after themselves. More wings" and generic heavy metal music.
-Porcupine keeps beating up Theo Casey.
-CHICKFIGHT, FRAN VS LILY YES. GET THE MUD.
-Damnit she's back to normal.
-Hey it's Igor, I mean RJ.
-The Cheetah cycle >>>> Casey's Strike Rider.
-JUNGLE MASTER MODE!
-Combined attack gets no new name.
-Megazord time.
-JUNGLE MASTER MEGAZORD WITH ELEPHAND POWER. The theme music is playing so you know the drill.
-Oh and WE ROCK!
-Ah so Grizzaka blames JaroShi for losing the beast war, and the overlords refer to him as Human so they know Daishi is merely possessing Jarod good.
-Ah the joys of emasculating the men for Girl POWER. BURN THE JACKET BOYS. IT's RJ's Jacket BTVS, BURN IT BURN IT!

Yeah using two Rinshi was odd, the writers used all the pig-related jokes and terms in that fight but against Porcupine their cup of wit was strangely lacking. Perhaps this speaks to the lack of jokes and humor about Porcupines. I want more jokes about those spiny bastards.

And we actually TWO fairly important plot points in this Lily focused episdoe:
-One, RJ is a werewolf and his health/life maybe in danger.
-Two, the overlords are aware of JaroShi's true nature even as they beat on him, they acknowledge who he really is and we also get some very important backstory on this 'Beast War', Oh my darling Ducky....

...Yes.

This episode just goes to show you... "don't judge a book by its cover." I thought it was just gonna be another episode as they call it. I really thought things were gonna be lame, rushed, and just a complete waste. Kalish did a pretty good job IMO.

Yeah, the pig Rinshi beast wasn't even necessary in this episode. Once he was outta way, things ran pretty smooth. Jarrod taking his anger out on the Rin Shi... way to go Jarrod! Perhaps one day you'll desperately need their help... and help won't come. It's interesting to know that Dai Shi is responsible for the "Beast War" defeat. Can't wait to see how Grizzaka reacts to seeing him human (if he even does).

Uh oh, Lily's gone bad people! And a bad cheetah she was. Frans confrontation with Lily was quite amusing. I think some people predicted they were gonna get in a miniature rumble together. I almost believed Fran was going to "Ranger-Up" on us, lol. That would have been *somewhat* amusing (NOT). But yeah, Lily was... beautiful... with a capital "HOT."

I like how they started RJs road to "Wolf Ranger" a bit early. It gives them plenty of time to explain some things in the next episode, which I'm really looking forward to.

All in all, BTTB was a fun episode which is preparing for the "scab" entrance. Sure, they didn't deliver from where they left off in GOAC pt.1; but that's no reason to give this episode a low rating. A high 4/5. June 16th... Wolf Ranger!

Was there really a point to them using Hamhock(whatever his name is)? All that time could have gone the aftermath of Fran finding out about the rangers and more bad Lily. But no, they just had to waste a monster like that.

I really wish they would stop doing that.

We didnt really need aftermath for that, in my opinion. But You're right, in a way, the Hamhock was just filler.

But you know what, I'm pretty amazed how much they managed to fit in this episode. It was brimming with fights, plot, and content. We had three monsters, DaiShi Beast War background, Grizzaka revival, Lily Badness, and various good fights.

I just love some of these fights. They are choreographed very well. Bruce wrote a damn good episode! But then, Bruce has always written some damn good episodes in my opinion. (With the exception of perception.)

What you stated was my MAIN reason why I gave this episode a 4/5. We got some background history which I for one wasn't expecting. Yes, the fights this year are uniquely choreographed in it's own way. I was never a BIG fan of Kalish's, but he's done well on this one. I hope they continue on with the Beast War background. It should have a fine deal of play in the Spirit Ranger arc... hopefully.

Well, it was no Krystle/Alexis in Alexis' Studio, but as far as TV Catfights go, I've seen a lot worse.

I was upset we didn't see Grizzaka, though I did like getting some villain perspective backstory on the Beast War (needs moar Waspinator).

That and the pointless use of the Pig monster were the only things I didn't care for. So, I say 4/5
