I'm glad she got punched in the face, else the video wouldn't have been as entertaining. Whether she deserved it or not is something I don't want to get into. Mainly because I can't keep up with the smart people in an argument.

You werent in his situation though. You know? We can criticize the officer all we want but we weren't in his shoes that day. I can tell by the video that he got annoyed and flustered when the third party interrupted the arrest. The officer was already having difficulty subduing the protesting suspect. Then he got shoved and pushed around by someone originally uninvolved. He reacted. He reacted poorly but his body did the first thing that felt natural.

he should've just tazed them both, honestly.

Police are trained to react to different situations. The fact that the police higher ups where he is at said he was ok in his actions.. That just screams Bullshit to me. There were lots of other ways he could have reacted. He stopped and THEN he swung away.

Barashin when you care less about something and then reply to it, you contradict yourself. I wonder about the people defending this cop in his actions. I have to wonder if you would have reacted the same way.

To be honest lets just please everyone and say both sides were wrong. The cop was obviously sorry he did so after landing a blow on her if you look at his expression but he had to detain her anyways so the situation wouldn't further itself with and already agitated crowd. And of course the women spewing crap out of their mouths didn't help either.
Honestly I'm not sure what they were expecting to get out of cornering a cop like that.

Sure I'm just not ready to hang the cop either for being human as well. There's been much worse mistakes made. What I love about stories like this is they never follow up on the aftermath or the beforehand and just love to make things seem worse then they are.

Of course, you're right. But at the same time, we weren't in his situation. People make mistakes. People aren't perfect. You can receive all the training you want, it won't wipe out your basic instincts.

I saw this awhile ago. All I can say is it has to get frustrating to be a cop and sometimes get treated with little to no respect. So I guess it just got to him and the girl got unlucky. Wonder if he will get any punhisment for it.

His hire ups signed off on it as needed from what I understand. If he was that frustrated, then perhaps being a cop is not for him.
