Paying Tax When Buying Things

It could have been reduced by a percent a few months back but of course the County President turned it down. There was one point where people in the province where I live (Manitoba) were paying 14% tax (7% GST and 7% PST). PST is still the same, but at least the GST (federal sales tax, for any non-Canadians) has gone down a couple of notches.
