Paying Tax When Buying Things

Well with the whole tax issue, at least you guys don't live in "Crook County" of Illinois. We currently hold the highest sales tax in the entire country with 10.25%. It could have been reduced by a percent a few months back but of course the County President turned it down. All I know is that paying Tax is an unfortunate necessity but there comes a point where sometimes we pay way too much on Tax and see it go nowhere.

Ah! Gotcha beat! 11.5 %! Two levels of government to pay.

There was one point where people in the province where I live (Manitoba) were paying 14% tax (7% GST and 7% PST). PST is still the same, but at least the GST (federal sales tax, for any non-Canadians) has gone down a couple of notches.

Down by 2%! So that's 12% for you. Woot half a %!

Needless to say Canadians pay more than Americans. Then again our tuition fees for college are about five times lower so :loltongue:
