Surprisingly the April Fools gag on Youtube does have it's advantages. On videos there is now a "text-only" mode in addition to normal resolutions, complete with a silly response line: "By using text-only mode, you are saving YouTube $1 a second in bandwidth costs. Click here to go back to regular YouTube and happy April Fools Day!". Using this mode renders whatever video you select with a pseudo-ascii filter, using random characters to "represent" the various megapixels of the video and it actually looks pretty cool.
