Ninninger or "does Toei really want to make sentai worse and worse year after year"?

Shinkenger clearly did impress some people, as it's the biggest recent hit Sentai's had - and Ninninger is not a "ripoff". The only thing it has in common with Shinkenger is the "Japanese culture" theme (inevitable, given that it's about ninja) and some visual elements.

Perhaps comparing Shinkenger and Ninninger isn't fair. There were some elements I found between the two similar. It's just that it's much slower for Ninninger's case....

On a side note: The Ninningers were cooler in the Toqger vs. Kyoryuger movie.

I'm looking back through my archive drive at the Sentai series I've seen, and tbh series where the red is clearly the main character are the norm, while shows that spread the focus are very much the exception.

There's a difference between "main character" and "beats the bad guys by himself without needing any help". Okay, Go-Busters may have been a bad example for my point but I stick with ToQger and, obviously, Kyoryuger. So far, Ninninger has yet to prove it will do otherwise.

I think you're confusing #3 and #4

Bah, my mistake. Sorry, the ToQgers really didn't leave an impression on me at all.

and "weird" with "stupid, toxic and offensive"

Well...I would disagree with you until Mio reciprocated it out of nowhere. At that point, yeah, it was pretty stupid. Not nearly as horribly developed as Daigo and Amy though.

Serious question about ninninger. I dropped the show around episode 10 because of how fast-paced the plot was and how uninteresting the characters were. Is this show any better? Did it improve on the stuff that it had problems with? Because i'm looking at forums about the show so far, and people are saying that it's still not good, while others are saying the opposite.

No, don't even bother. Nothing has happened at all since then. Yes, Juuzo Lite died and the dude with Freeza's voice came on, but he hasn't done **** yet and the plot of Ninninger has been nothing more than that of just convenience. Everything is just handed to the rangers and they haven't had to actually earn anything.

I happily decided to not watch that movie.

Oh....so Ninninger is now suffering from the same problems that I've had with kyoryuger......except the problems are occurring much earlier according to you and others. What did they get that they didn't have to fight for? Cause I remember in kyoryuger when the rangers didn't have to learn a lesson or actually take a loss to grow and earn a weapon. They just got becuase they were brave (which defeated the purpose of the fights in that show since they technically never loss once). Is the plot getting slower and slower to the point where it's sluggish because if so.....what does the plot offer that's actually good to the show so far?

Just fighting some random monsters.... Oh, and a power happened.

Edit: To be fair, that's usual Sentai fanfare. So in that aspect, it isn't doing anything too offensive.

I'd argue that at this point Kyoryuger was going onto other things (for example the first Kyoryu Violet had just turned up) but at the end of the day I think most people tend to get a gut reaction as to whether they like a show or not within a few episodes. If you like a show then you can enjoy it in spite of it's flaws. If you don't then you zero in on those flaws as they justify your gut reaction.

Ninnin may be doing a lot of things the same as Kyoryu, but my gut just doesn't enjoy it the same way that I'd enjoyed that show. So I'll nitpick it to death while I'll forgive it's predecessor anything.

Admittedly, other than the plot problems I had with kyoryu, the first half is honestly not bad. I did enjoy kyoryu first half. I didnt start having problems with it until the second half....mainly the episode where king got his powerup. But I had problem with ninnin as early as episode 2. That isnt a good sign and even then, I waited it out til episode 10 and by then, I wanted to quit so badly. So yeah I can see where your love for kyoryu comes from

Well the last episode I watched, 19, had a monster that was so powerful he destroyed a few of their weapons. They go out looking for a special black smith to fix them and this nutty guy they come across says they need to learn how to not rely on their ninja abilities to win a battle before he will take them to the black smith. The black smith sneaks their weapons away off screen and hands them to the rangers 5 minutes later when the rest of the team is getting their asses whooped. They learned absolutely nothing but got what they needed without any effort.

Toqger vs. Kyoryuger was actually pretty enjoyable. They did new things, while also respecting both sides.

The Ninninger's cameos, while the usual sentai cameo, was pretty cool. Since it's a cameo, none of the stupid plot points in the actual series were apparent. It was subtle enough to have the illusion of abilities to each individual Ninninger...... Too bad the actual show ruined it.

Also, can someone tell me the point of putting magic in Ninninger? Because all it is is just a play on European culture. THAT'S IT.
