Newer Sentai Turns Me Off

I get that you like *insert one piece mecha here*, but keep it in your pants. I wasn't beating it's DX toy unmercifully with a Samurai Ha-Oh toy. Jeez. I haven't liked a Sentai mecha since Boukenger, so calm down.

Not even the upcoming Gosei Ultimate? Not that we've seen anything of it yet, but I'm interested to hear your opinion.

I'll admit DekaBike is rather lame (a giant motorcycle?), but what the heck is wrong with the rest?

Gattai robo look better in Sentai.

Um, yes it does. A one piece robo is one that has its own robot mode and/or can function in battle without having to combine.

...Throw some armor on it? C'mon, every year? If you're going to question that, then why not question why they have a power-up at all? (Gah...I sense that's not going to go well...)

Maybe not every year. But don't do the same thing all the time.

Boring characters

Eh, maybe they're not as great as Liveman's or Jetman's heroes, but boring?

non-existent plotline, terrible fight scenes (compare Maskman's first episode to Dairanger's first episode alone) in most episodes, the fact that they needed terrible CGI to get any thing done (AURA POWER!!!!!)

And Deka-Bouken are leaps and bounds above Maskman, to say nothing of Shinkenger.

"Something must be wrong with your eyes?" A laugh emoticon because he thinks certain shows are better than others? What gives you the right to just put down another's opinion like that. It's completely rude and inconsiderate and it just makes you look like a jerk. And no, I'm not criticizing you for having an opinion. I'm criticizing how you're acting like someone who thinks they're always right and if we don't agree with that, we're wrong. I feel really bad for saying this, but as much as I want to, I really can't watch newer Sentai

1) Most of the theme songs are not as could as they could be

2) Some feel more watered down than their American counterparts

3) Some characters just feel bland because either the actor or actresses heart isn't in the scene or the writing wasn't all that great

I feel really discouraged by this considering that some of my favorite seasons were SPD, Ninja Storm, Mystic Force, and Jungle Fury

Am I wrong for feel this way or am I justified

I'll agree with you a bit because personally I did find Boukenger and Go-Onger a bit boring.

The only thing I really liked about Boukenger was Natsuki. She was so sweet and cute and I wanna hug her and she has a nice ass.. etc..

But everything else... the villians were boring..

Go-Onger, Go-On Red has a really annoying voice and is the most annoying character.

Land Galaxy just looks plain ridiculous. Not "cool" ridiculous...just "ridiculous annoying". Am I remembering Sirender right? 'Cause I'm thinking of Signalman's mecha. Hilarious character, but I didn't care for his mecha.

It doesn't really make sense for them to use the same weapons after powering up. They should use the same theme but more advanced versions.

The Liveman have a loooooooooong way to go before I consider them anything close to awesome. (The Jetman are cool though.) Setting that aside...none of them really stood out. There's nothing special about them, aside from Akira.

Any serious feat they ever managed involved "Aura Power". Not in a "Glow like Leroy" sense though, no--if they were more impressive, more brutal fight scenes while the Maskman glowed, that would be different. Maskman though just has glowy colors fired at the villain.

And yes, *most* (I stress most) fights in Maskman involve them just jumping around. That's it.

Deka and Bouken made their "case by case" plot work for them--they were written to be like that. Maskman...was not. Shinken's plot is weak, but I enjoy the characters and the fights.

That can work for the arsenal. But I still don't think it's really necessary for the mecha. Sometimes, ok. But not always.

Yeah.... because Aura Power was what they used to fight. Of course they're going to use it. That should be obvious. Are you complaining that Gekiranger's heroes and villains constantly used Geki and Rin Wazas in battle, some of which were clearly silly?

Case by case may have worked for a concept like Deka, not it made no sense in Bouken. Deka's police setting makes sense for a loosely connected episodic pace. (Though given the way the Alienizer was handled, as far as I understand it, a more structured villain organization may have been more sensible.)

I still say you should give the show a examination. It really seems like you've developed some kind of weird hatred for this show.
