New Rurouni Kenshin anime on the way

Kenshin always looked like a girl in the original anime too. He's actually a standard pretty boy.

I'd like to mention when in "manslayer mode" or when he's serious he never looks like pretty boy. But any other time...well yeah he does.

I hope that the new anime gets an uncut dubbed release in the states. And I hope that the release of the new anime causes the old series to come back into circulation, maybe with a digitally remastered version, or with both English dubs for whoever wants it. As long as it's uncut and affordable, I'd be all over it.

But these images are very similar. Make the lips of the second one less shaded and less prominent, and that character would have features very similar to that pic of Kenshin.

Aside from the expression in the eyes, there is next to no major difference in the character designs. Even the manga would make it a habit to point out how pretty Kenshin was supposed to be. Yeah, he has those fierce moments, but generally he's rocking the pretty boy looks.

Hm...I guess I'm just more of a fan of Nobuhiro's evolved drawing style that carried over into Buso Renkin. Early Kenshin was SO old-school bishounen that it annoyed me lots. But then the faces looked a lot better and a tad more manly, and the eyes were less shiny as the series went on.

But when I see new Kenshin with mondo shiny eyes and pretty-boy pointy chin, I get really annoyed...I just speak as a Nobuhiro Watsuki fan.

That said, I better see Enishi in anime form!

Kenshin's being turned into a pretty boy ?!?! @_@ oh great, I knew the revival of the series with the legit "brotherhood" treatment was too good to be true >.< sighs....... if T.M. Revolutions sings more than one song for this new show I might consider checking it out.

Man I regret giving away my entire manga set to my friend, then again he was a great guy and loved Kenshin more than me (at the time) so its all good, I just really miss it cuz it was the first manga series I ever started buying, and funny thing is it was the Yukishirou arc that got me into it :coolshades:
