NBA 2013-2014 Season Discussion Thread

There were moments tho where Blake Griffin was just...tentative. Times when he could've taken his man on single coverage, or shot a jumper (which he can knock down even though it's still not one of his strongest skills).

I think if he was a bit more aggressive, it would've helped release some of the pressure from Chris Paul, who faced intense defensive pressure from the Heat in the second half.

Linsanity was back baby! James Harden had to sit out the game against the Sixers so Lin had to do what Lin did best. He was on fire all night and his statline was very impressive: 34 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists, 8 turnovers and 9 three-pointers made which is a record at the Wells Fargo Center. Sucked that the Rockets couldn't win. Lin's turnovers hurted but the rest of his teammates couldn't get the job done either. This game was fun to watch.

Glad the Kings got a much needed win against the star studded lineup of the Nets. The Kings were playing like the kind of team I was expecting to see. Marcus Thornton came off the bench and had himself a great game. I think he's best coming off the bench and this game kinda proves it. Build on this performance because this Friday's game is against the Pistons on national TV.

This game just confirms that Lin does his best when He's the scorer. Linsanity doesn't happen when Harden is on the court. Besides the turnovers, Lin should've also done a better job defensively.

Happy to see the Clips get a much-needed win over the OKC Thunder. Disappointed with Matt Barnes tho; after he got ejected, he thought it was a good idea to send out a vulgar tweet about how standing up for his team "Costs him money". Never mind the language; he shouldn't have said that. Stick up for the team through and through.

Agreed.

Linsanity returned to New York tonight and had himself a good game against the Knicks. He's really improved this year and I think this is just the beginning. The Knicks had to play hack-a-Dwight but it wasn't enough. The losses are piling up for the Knicks right now. Not looking good for the team.

What a game between the Warriors and Thunder. I thought the Warriors had the win in the bag but the Thunder kept clawing back and Westbrook hit what could've been a game-winner. But no, Iguodala had other plans and hit a sick fadeaway jumper to win the game at the buzzer. Awesome stuff. I've been skeptical to see how Iggy was going to jell with this team but I think he makes the team even more deadlier. This game will go down as one of the best of this season.

The Kings have played a very heavy home schedule to start this season and they are losing a lot of them. Only two wins so far this season with both of them at home. I don't like this at all. They lost to the Grizzlies which I knew was going to happen but I feel like this team gets overmatched too many times.

Meanwhile the Lakers get a win over the Pistons and I am impressed with the stats Jordan Hill has been putting up. Also with Steve Blake's numbers too since Nash went down. I play fantasy basketball so I have to pay attention to this kind of stuff. Lol...

The first meeting between the Kings/Lakers of the season happened today and boy that did not go well for the Kings at all. They couldn't make defensive stops and the Lakers seemed to make every shot they took. It was frustrating to watch for me. The game was actually close but the Kings inability to make any shot during the 3rd quarter killed their chances of a comeback.

Anyways, the Kings played a hard fought game against the Clippers again for the third time this season. They were able to extend the game into Overtime where I thought they would pull away with the win. But this is the Kings we are talking about. They don't know how to finish an opponent. Jamal Crawford was hot all game long and nailed jumper after jumper. Kings had no one to defend him.

The Warriors have been losing since Iggy's injury. Not sure if it's because of his injury or not but this is not good to see. They played another exciting game against the Thunder where this time, Westbrook's shot was the game-winner. Really want to see these two face off in the Playoffs.

Sacramento is about to have a "Gay Cousins" combo! Yep, Rudy Gay has been traded to the Kings along with two other players in exchange for Salmons, Patterson, Hayes and Greivis Vasquez. Sacramento's new Owner Ranadive has been very aggressive since owning the team. I like it. But the only thing I don't know who is how all this will work out. Derrick Williams was the previous new addition and I don't know how he's going to do.
