MTV's True Life: I'm A Fanboy (PR Fandom Episode)

Am I the only that didn't really see "us looking bad"?

I wasn't really that bad. Then again, it wasn't much about the Toku/PR Fandom...either

Let's pull our resources together and do a fan documentary...

*pulls out DV Cam*

...who's in?

Besides...there's far more worse fandoms than ours you know.

They just recorded it, edited it into the correct time line and aired it.

You're underestimating the power of editing. They turned his segment into a 25 year old nerds desperate attempt to get a 17 year old to go on a date with him. There were tons of different ways they could have taken his piece, but went with what would get the biggest reaction out of the audience. Especially in light of the most recent Rangercast episode revealing how MTV doctored basically the entire thing, there's no question it wasn't a very accurate depiction of who this dude actually is.

I just finished watching it...

To be honest, I cringed at parts while watching... I mean, I know it was about a fellow nerd/geek and I could relate on some parts but I personally don't go that far.

Also, I hated how even Sentai was considered "Power Rangers" as far as MTV was concerned. :sly:

And oh yeah, while I thought the reaction was priceless and I do have my moments sometimes... but "OH...MY...GOD! HOW MUCH IS THAT?!?!" became annoying after the first few times when they keep using it as the commercial sequence thingy... :shakefist

But I still think the lady from "Trekkies" has not been beat... the one who insists her co-workers to call her "Commander" or something like that and goes out everyday (including the time she had jury duty) in a Starfleet uniform complete with phaser and tricorder (I think... IIRC).

Yeah, Gemma was saying they kinda, messed around a lot with the footage to make it seem more like it was them being couple-y. Just an fyi, yeah, Gemma is her real name. She was super excited when she found out Go-On Silver's English name was gunna be Gemma.

Y'know, everyone gets mad whenever people put the spotlight on us geeks, cause it shows us just how far we seem to fall on the ladder of normalcy.
The way I see it, that dude had enough courage to tell the whole damn world, "HEY! I like Power rangers and Gemma's hot!"
And by god, I feel the same!
*Toei Flag waving in background*
Because...Fandom isn't just about sitting around and watching the newest episodes RAW, or buying the toys before the even go on sale, or getting the autographs of the suit actors.
It's also about showing those poor, unenlightened masses that huddle around Twilight and watch MTV, and tell them that there's something greater.
There's something more!
That there's something out there, that makes you feel like jumping into colored coordinated suits or armor designed after bugs, and kicking and slashing and jumping away from explosions in quarries, all in the name of justice!
So to you, PR fanboy, I salute you!
:patriotic:

So I decided to watch it and I felt so damn sorry for those Power Ranger fans. My God, they made themselves look so fucking pathetic. I would feel embarassed.

Even the girl who was addicted to Warcraft and the Horror Movie guy were better.

This loser Jason dates a 16 year old girl? Jesus Christ. They didn't focus on the actual Power Rangers **** but more on how much of a loser these fans are.

Wow.... just wow.....

Ya know, that guy posts sporadically on this board, and others. Those kind of put downs against peers on here will earn you some sternly worded letters from the staff. Or atleast, it SHOULD.
