Most Overrated / Annoying Sentai Ranger

What about Shurikenger?

Shurikenger had a human form (we just never saw his real one since he was always in disguise), a transformation sequence and his design is a proper Sixth Ranger's so he doesn't qualify for the list.

I'm one who think Goseiger could have been a new Flashman if they had tweaked a few things. Knight could have been their example of what would happen if they failed to return to Gosei World in time.

Wasn't the Anti-Flash Effect supposed to permanently de-power and/or kill them when their year on Earth was up? "Some guy who died a million years ago with no powers" wouldn't really make for a very compelling character either.

And given the tone and time slot changes for Sentai from Flashman to now, I'm not sure you could get away with a show about the slow, inevitable approach of death at 7:30 AM.

Shurikenger is the one.
As well as Gai. But judjing by latest Gokai episodes, looks like he has improved a bit.

I honestly felt like Gai was a Poochie character when he was first introduced. But this far into the show I've grown to like him in part because he's the only character who has a reaction to meeting a previous Sentai hero that isn't "Heh." or a reaction at all.

Not to say that I expect Marvelous and the others to fanspazz for Sentai vets the way Gai does but I don't get where this show equates being this sort of blase apathetic mode to being a pirate.

I didn't say kill him. Just that he lost the ability to go back to Gosei World after going over his limit from being sealed with the Yuumaju. If the Tower is not rebuilt soon, the Goseigers would share his fate and be permanently marooned on Earth. Thus we would have something at stake, instead of something that doesn't really matter because they can just wait around until their fellow Angels get their act together and fix the Tower. I liked the end of the Yuumaju arc because it had some semblance of tension regarding the Tower. But after the next episode it's not an issue anymore. Even in episode 40 where Alata goes back in time, he's not even upset about failing to save the Tower even though he made a big deal about it in the beginning.

What would not make Knight compelling? Knight is betrayed by Brajira and thus after being unsealed has mistrust and contempt toward both Angels and humans, but will still fight the Yuumaju to settle his grudge. From there you can spend the show getting him to be convinced otherwise by the other characters, but in the finale Brajira tempts him with the power to return home. (Like Lee Keflen tempts the Flashman to cure them of the Anti-Flash Phenomenon.) That would work for me.
