Yeah it does, all of Kiva's forms need the monsters or the tasulot thingy. Hell, he need the Kivat to be around to even henshin. "Wait Wataru! I'm taking a pee!"

Oh yeah, I forget that Den-O and Kiva have huge support mecha (trains and Castles), and the Ryuuki-series Riders have their contract monsters. Don't know if I should add that to their 'flexibility' in battle.

Well yeah, those can come through and save them in a steel cage match, but still...

well, one might argue that there's still den-o's liner form right? but then, it still is at a slight disadvantage since its basically ryoutarou in a new armor. no additional enhancements save for the denkamen sword. and lets face it.. despite his "trainings" ryoutarou's still no bruce lee.

and yeah, a missing imajin sitch certainly counts to another drawback.

as for kiva, he COULD have been an all around fighter, kiva form for melee, garulu for close combat, bashaa for ranged attacks and dogga for defense. but again, he needs the arms monsters for that. he needs a power besides his own to gain those. so its a no go.

I'm not sure I'd count Den-O as being flexible though...yes he has the form changes and the Imagine, but Den-O's strength depended usually on the Imagine.

Picture if somehow, Ryutaros and the other Imagine got into a huge argument, something so bad that it makes them not want to fuse with Ryutaro, and fight together.

Now picture if something happened to the Climax Phone, or Ryutaros suddenly can't use Linear form...all that's left of Den-O is the Plat Form...and we've all seen how useful that form can be.

So yeah, take the Imagine and Climax Phone out of the equation, and Den-O can be pretty useless.

well, it's not really fair to look at hypotheticals, because in that case, most riders have hypothetical situations where they're majorly disadvantaged

this thread is about what riders can do, not situations where there are things they can't do

well yeah, but by that same vein, Kiva is only flexible when he has the Arms Monsters, Decade is only flexible when he has his Kamen Rider Cards, and W is only flexible when he has his Gaia Memories
