Most favorite Kiva's character

Exactly. Kengo was just gullible, and he took Wataru's advice as betrayal. That's nothing compared to "Sumi wa sumi da."

Just gullible? That´s justifying insulting your so called "best friend", which you only took advantage of up to now, who in the process of offering help and supporting you neglected his own work and dream just for you? So, it´s okay to blame your best, devoted friend who just tries to warn you of jealousy, cut the acquaintance out of that reason and humiliate him by shoveling dirt on him? If somebody missed it, Wataru was hurt by that and would have had all reason to let Kengo walk right into a trap, but no, what did our ingenuous hero ...

Riki/Dogga is funny even though he's monotone, but based on the body language and expression, you get an idea of what he's thinking.

Wataru has the best interaction with the other characters and enemies. While the past is a endless round of the same manners from Otoya, Jirou and Yuri. Wataru is slowly maturing, while his Dad is still stepping on the same stone again and again and again - and tripping in the water without attempting a new strategy. Seriously, no wonder that IXA was a failure in the past and FanGire succeeded in that time, when the people who could have helped only to fought over the technical Rider and forgot their real purpose there. :disappoin Wataru seems with his just 20 years and isolated childhood right now far more grown-up mentally than his father was with 22. :redface2:
Well of course the Fangaire are winning the past, you have an incomplete Rider system and a few humans fighting them, Kiva's had time to fight in the present day. They haven't forgotten their purpose, they've just had lives, which is kinda hard for Wataru when he kept himself shut in for all those years. Jiro's just been using the Hunters, he's not out to kill Fangire, just Rook and make some babies with Yuri. I think Otoya is a much better character than Wataru. He puts up a happy front, but he's a pretty troubled guy, people don't like him and won't believe him, he fights and gets beaten on so much for a woman that won't even look his way, yet he still acts happy and won't give up on her. Yuri's losing because she's only human, she probably likes Jiro more than Otoya because he thinks he's stronger than her and deep down, she wants someone to protect her after what happened with her mother. I don't dislike Wataru as a character, but I honestly don't get all the praise for him. He's a nice guy, yeah, he has his breaking points, sure, but that doesn't make him better than Otoya, at least not in my opinion.

Interesting discussion ...

@ Ryoutarou: In Otoya´s case it´s his own fault and obvious why some people don´t believe and don´t like him at first view. If he wouldn´t behave like a shallow, immature and rude male dog and cheap 3rd class comedian things would be very different for him. He is no womanizer, he just thinks he is one. This and his being as artistic genius were clearly going to his head and that´s a big problem. People were always treating him with respect! He never seemed to have fought for appreciation - until now. I see Otoya as a spoiled artist, who tends to be very arrogant at times and just can´t bear to get rejected. Shima, Yuri and Jirou happened to be the first people he encountered who showed antipathy and didn´t kissed his posterior, what he seems to see as always granted. What is Otoya´s purpose in life? It can´t be only chasing his dream woman, but we ever saw him musing seriously about something, how we did serveral times with Wataru.

It´s not that they won´t be able to stand a fight, it´s more that until now they didn´t even tried to help humans, regardless the state of IXA. Even an uncompleted system needs training and experience. And being a member of the Organsation does mean a full-time-job, doesn´t it? Yuri´s part-time occupation at the Café is just cover and even Otoya is right now more or less slagging off his supposed work as Violin Maker and Teacher, and Jirou is ... about work.

Well, Wataru is a very mysterious young man, one more point for him. It surely wasn´t his decision to shut himself out of the world from birth, not going to school or live a normal life like everybody - what even his Dad was able to do. He doesn´t appear to be a happy-go-lucky and shallow kid at all and yet he finds the strength to fight, work and follow his dream. And he always treats people (and FanGire) with respect, never taking it out on somebody!

Selfish, yes, but that's his ultimate dream he's working towards. I'm no Kengo devotee but people will do all sorts of things if they believe their dream is in danger. Kengo is only human.

Anyway, the people in the past have to lose or all the stuff in the present makes no sense at all!
