Mighty Morphin Zyuranger! - Talk Up!

Had it not been because of it's connection to PR, then Zyuranger would just have been another forgettable show like Dynaman, GoGoV and the likes.

Hey, I liked GoGoV, but it is not a Sentai that you hear people speak much about.
They mostly talk about shows like Jetman, Dairanger, Megaranger, Timeranger etc.

Burai WAS Zyuranger for me. Honestly, I can't see anything special about this show. It was the first show to introduce a permanent sixth member, and it was the first show to use the dinosaur theme, which has only been used twice in Sentai history.

Other than that, the show was pretty bad. The "kid of the day" theme was so bad. I do not mind kid-centered episodes. Almost every toku show have at least 2 episodes focusing on some random kid, but Zyuranger had it in almost EVERY episode.
Hey, they even had kids PILOTING Dora Talos, one of the most badass evil mechas ever... COME ON!
It is just too much.

It is great that TVN has decided to sub more old Sentai, but I would prefer if they subbed the rest of Megaranger or Dairanger instead, which are actually more popular among the fans.
And what about Changeman? Whatever happened to that project?
I really wish they could just stick to one old Sentai show at a time. I can easily see Zyuranger ending up as an unfinished project again, especially because the demand for that show is not that big....

TVN has way to many shows. 20+ active, 6+ on hold. Instead of starting up new stuff, they should work on what they have already as you say. I mean they are free to sub what they want, but come on.

Yeah to me, Burai and Bandora IS Zyuranger.

The first half of the show was just meh. The Child of the Week was just portrayed terribly imo. I dunno why, but Toei sure did love to portray the children as spoiled loud-mouthed brats, who loved to make the Zyurangers feel bad if they couldn't help fulfill their wishes. Honestly, I didn't feel bad for the children much at all. This is why I like child characters like Kou. He was interesting!

The second half of the show was when things got interesting. The Zyurangers FINALLY got to be the stars of the show. Some of my favorite eps include the Boi being a ninja ep. And the ep with Mei and Lami's rivalry. But sadly, the second half of the show couldn't make up for how frustrating the first half was. And I tend to feel mixed towards shows that were only half good.


GoGoFive forgettable?....... yeah, maybe outside of Japan.

Anyone that thinks gogov is forgettable just has zero taste And that is only me HALF joking.

Jetman is a favorite of the old school fans. Dairanger is getting subbed, megaranger was a PR and has some subs, timeranger was PR and has a lot of exposer.

Shows that have subs, even if they are fake like RRR stuff, always get more attention.

Zyu wasn't bad. Only thing I didn't really like was having a kid being in every episode. But other then than I still get goosebumps when watching it bc of the MMPR era.

Yeah, i read somewhere that he was so famous that fans were writing in to demand that he was revived or something along that line after his death ...


Gonna give you guys a hint (if its appropriate >_<) ... the later episodes, you will spot one noticeable cameo that would later go on to be the next series sixth senshi

Zyuranger has so many kids in it, it's not much of a surprise that one of them was Kibaranger's actor.

Oh come on, you have to admit that a lot of the monsters were pretty cool. DoraSphinx, DoraMinotaur, the eye monster, Lammy, not to mention Gripherzor.

I will agree on this, as some episodes (like the genie one and DoraPixie) relied too much on children. However, DoraTalos being piloted by a kid was the purpose.

I completely disagree. Sure, MMPR did help, but the show is not that bad. It is definitely better than OhRanger, which in of itself is not a bad show either. And saying GoGoV is forgettable is very forgettable. Dynaman, yes, but GoGoV, no. Now Deka, Go-On, and Gosei are forgettable.

I would like Changeman as well since I would love to see it before I buy it.

I should mention that Elite-Justice Fansubs also subbed Zyuranger from Episode 1-10.

Yeah, but they seemed to have just stopped with episode 10, which was like 2 years ago.

And about changeman. That was being done by me and a different translator before I left the group. If they do it again they should start from ep1 with their own raws.

No doubt. But when it's ALL 50 episodes... It gets kinda like KR Black's kids screaming "Help!" a thousand times per episode. :laugh:
