He knows WHAT the Metal Hero sub genre is. He was asking "WHAT is a Metal Hero?". Essentially a hero dressed in a metal suit.... which is what Kamen Rider is now (not including Kuuga or Hibiki).
As for the shows you mentioned.... Just horrid, horrid crap even for old school Saban standards.

Just a thought, but if any of you were in charge to revive the Metal Hero series, what would your approach to it be?

Go full out Old school.
Space Sheriffs without the re-used stock footage and throw in some drama. Keep it on a serious tone and very violent.
Trust me I'd do some serious magic if I ever ran Metal Heroes. First series up would be a 4th Space Sheriff series and the following year would be a 3rd B-Fighter.
Then hiatus for a bit.

I had heard this, but thought it was simply a rumor. How did it go from Metal Hero to Kamen Rider?
From what I read and saw, I thought what made Metal Heroes what it was...was how disturbingly creepy some of the scenes were (doll faced guys, random men in sheets chasing after people, random midgets popping out of nowhere, etc.). Not to mention...the random scenery hopping during fights.
VR Troopers had to go by that by dubbing the scenery changes "Vortex Command" and "Indigo Sector"

Maybe the same way Hibiki did. They thought it would make a good Rider series.
