Anyone else thinks that the Gavan Metal Hero series is really overrated?

Yes. At the ep 15 mark shaider brought in a serious arc that lasted right until the end of the series. That arc also lead to one of the coolest finale battles in forever.

Sharivan & Shaider are the better shows.

My love for Robocop and toku in general sparked my interest in Gavan. I can't remember how ecstatic I was I was learning all about Jiban. Sadly, there are no English subs that I know of.
