Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legend The Movie

It's suppose to be Reiblood.
Not according to Tsubaraya Productions since it's even printed as "Raybrad" in Japan.

It's a reference to the sci-fi/fantasy/horror author, Ray Bradbury.

ok forgive my ignorance if this is asked already but whats with the capes? i mean what does it symbolize in the ultras?

The capes are nothing more but a status symbol of leadership. Originally, only Ultraman King came with a cape. Recent years, both Mother and Father came in capes too in the Mebius series. Zoffy and Taro have capes as they are garrison leader and instructor respectively. Ultraman and Ultraseven have capes as they are the 2 most senior (earliest and most recognizable Ultras) in the series.

Just watched it and WOW!

Seeing Ultra fights done with HK stylings was a cool thing in and of itself but trust me there is a movie to go with these fights and it is one that is a celebration of what Ultraman means. It's the kind of crossover I wish All-Riders vs. Dai Shocker could have been.

It was heroic, it was cool, it was fun and the shout-outs to the fans were great! I'm not even as up on my Ultra stuff as I am Kamen Rider or Sentai but even the stuff I didn't get made me want to go find out more. This movie was a total freakin blast and if you can't like Ultraman after seeing this then you need a humanity transplant.

Buy it, own it, watch it, love it, rec it! :buttrock: :castlerock:

You can tell how much rank an Ultraman has by how big his/her cape is.

This movie was fucking awesome and I do not regret the purchase at all. It is a testament to how completely at the bleeding edge of tokusatsu production Tsuburaya is. The script was thoughtful without becoming boring, action-packed without becoming stupid, and offered plenty of great cameos for fans without becoming incoherent.

I would go so far as to say that this might be a great "entry" film for people who either don't get Ultraman or want to find out what it's about. It's all here.

I'm not gonna get real into it with this like I usually do, because my analysis is pretty simple. I liked the film very much. Much more so than the last two Ultra films. But I did feel like there was too much story dealing with the older Ultras and definitely too much with the crew from UGL. I wanted more M78 and Ultraman brotherhood interaction.

But overall I was very pleased, although I felt this was overly hyped. The effects were very well done and surpassed most films in Japan these days, in that regard. Very good action, good story, and best film in the franchise since the late 90s. . .

[hide]And for the record. . . I loved MVerta's extrememly dynamic and mature-sounding score for the film. :D I only wished he could've worked with a real orchestra. I feel it would've felt a tad more cinematic, and even more energetic and spirited than it already sounded. But it was great nonetheless. Much better than the last couple films.

I just don't get why they had full orchestral soundtracks back in the 90s, and not now. :disappoin I own the soundtrack to Ultraman Gaia: The Battle in Hyperspace, because it's an amazing score and was highly regarded in Japan. I could definitely tell it was with a full orchestra and very little synth.[/hide]
