Well, the youtube video above did clarify that allegedly, the indoctrination theory evidence might have been a last minute addition because of EA's press for time, and Bioware did have a lot of ideas for the ending (like Reaper TIM), but was cut because of the lack of time. They may have just added the Indoctrination Theory Easter eggs to make it feel satisfying to some gamers at least, rather than have everyone hate them. LOL

After reading that (and still not downloading the EC), I guess it's still safe to assume that the EC still wasn't the "real ending" Bioware wanted, but was a fix to the ending they were forced to take because of EA's alleged press for time. If it had the "final battle" with Reaper TIM like in the concept art or even with Harbinger as the review suggests, then I could be satisfied with saying that the Indoctrination Theory is really out of the question... But with these, believing in the Indoctrination Theory gives me more satisfaction. I mean yeah, I believe that Bioware and EA fucked up the ending, but as a gamer, I'd rather stick with the Indoctrination Theory to make it enjoyable rather than feel disappointed.

I downloaded it but haven't played it. I sort of skimmed some short summaries, but it doesn't look like my issue with the ending was fixed, not that I really expected it to be. Blah, getting upset just thinking about it. :disappoin Damn, I thought I was over this. Guess not.

Really? You thought that Indoctrination Theory means "EVERYTHING IS A LIE"??? You didn't understand it then. The theory states that Shepard was slowly being indoctrinated (allegedly since he entered the derelict Reaper in ME2), which means he still WASN'T indoctrinated and everything WASN'T a lie. The point of the theory is that the whole process of indoctrination reached its final stages during Shepard's assault towards the conduit when he and the rest of the assault team was hit with Harbinger's beam. Since he was physically incapacitated, it may have contributed to the indoctrination process, thus creating the theory that since he woke up from the beam, it was all in his head as projected by the indoctrination process. The only point that Shepard becomes indoctrinated is when you choose control or synthesis (as shown by Shepard's indoctrinated eyes during the final cinematic for both). Only by having enough EMS, can you get Shepard to survive the destroy option since logically, having enough EMS means he is not just prepared military-wise, but mentally as well (it's logical since being militarily-prepared could contribute to morale). It's a theory, I know, and for me it's better than accepting the fact that Bioware / EA screwed up the ending which could have been better if the original plan of having a Reaper TIM finale battle included, but because of time constraints, the ending was rushed. With the indoctrination theory, we can derive our own ending (which sucks mostly since it's a lazy technique of most writers) since the game didn't technically finish since Shepard still hasn't reached the conduit, but is of course skipped to the Stargazer ending to show that Shepard did reach the conduit to stop the Reapers, but we didn't get to experience it. The consumer side of me hates this fact that I have to resort to the Indoctrination Theory, but the gamer in me, for the sake of feeling satisfied for a game I've invested a lot of time and money on, the olive basket provided by the Indoctrination Theory makes it feel worth it.

We're not satisfied, we're disappointed in what the endings give us.

The IT is an alternative look at the final moments of the game which could give hope to some form of salvage. (which would only be headcanon/fan fiction at this point, since the EC is out)
