Manga Vs Western Comic

Um you forget the Akiba effect a place if you live in Japan were you go if your Otaku and feel at Home away from Home how many places can you go if you a comic book fan can you go and eat in a cos play cafe and be Serve by a Super Hero last time i went to a Cos cafe i was served by Seiya :O_O::anime:

They're the same medium, but the execution of each form is drastically different depending on the influences affecting the art style and composition. Personally I've always found most manga to be very visually uninteresting, not to mention that as a gaijin I hardly ever know what to make of all the strange goings-on and find it hard to relate to characters and situations that have been so heavily mangled by translation and cultural distance. The American comic is something that has so much more depth because it's had all this time to establish itself and let its concepts and structure and imagery distill into something readily identifiable but still easily recognized, and typically I find that the substance of Western graphic art appeals to me much more.

That has very little to do with the medium itself but rather the location and culture.

To be fair I haven't really read many western comics. Story wise i feel that both equally interesting but in term of art, i do prefer manga since i looks less serious. I just feel that manga is better for entertaining and relaxing yourself.

thats what is this thread is about not only Medium Comparison but Culture fandom every thing involved with the two mediums

Then you should have stated that, and if you're asking which one is better taking all of those into account you can't really outright say which is better. It's like asking if German culture or French culture is better.

My post still stands, you can't outright say which one is better because they're so different in every country mostly due to the culture of their respective countries. Comic book fans in Japan are very different from ones in England and Manga fans in Brazil are very different from ones in America.
