The Comic Book/Manga Haul Thread

[Ragna "D" BloodEdge]

Civil War #4. Killer issue, in spite of the fact some knucklehead I know blew one of the spoilers for me...:redface2:

[Tenraisenpuujin]

I've been getting quite a bit (for me) lately, mainly based on who's writing stuff:

Warren Ellis:
NextWave: Agents of HATE (hardcover of 1-6; highly recommended, one of the funniest titles I've ever read, great art)

JMS:
Amazing Spiderman: New Avengers TPB (HIGHLY recommended, extremely well done, even if JMS has kept his B5 penchant for grandiose monologues)
Fantastic Four HC (can't remember title right now)

Peter David:
New X-Factor HC (a lot of fun, though not quite up to the sheer excellence of his Madrox miniseries)

DragonBall Volume 13
Sgt Frog Volume 2

Going to London on Saturday with my anime buddies and am hoping to pick up Train Man and DragonBall Volume 14. I thought there was only 14 Volumes of DragonBall, there's 16!:redface2:

I thought there was only 14 Volumes of DragonBall, there's 16!:redface2:

Hmm, that's odd, because:
- for the normal edition, there are 42 volumes
- for the 'kanzenban' edition, there are 34 volumes

Besides the editions that I mentioned, is there another one that is only 16 volumes?

[UltraMatt]

Er.....what?

I'm taking about the translated Shonen Jump releases.

DragonBall is 1-16
Then DragonBall Z is a seperate manga.

I don't collect manga I can't read dude. :redface2:

Densha Otoko or the other crappy manga called Train Man?

[UltraMatt]

It's the book, not the manga. One book is all it is, it's Densha Otoko (but title is Train Man) and it's set in the message board style. It's sooooooo goddamn awesome reading all those messages.

[Aoi Kurenai]

Thought it was the manga. I've been looking forward to getting the book, after reading the original posts that some people translated, I got hooked.
