Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters confirmed for 1/18/14!

They should just make it a pure Busters/Kyo movie, and then do the three Dino Sentai in another movie, like a Returns or something. This current plan is just idiotic to some degree. I mean, it forces out the team that Toei figures nobody cares about (our precious Busters...) by making them a very small part, but it's just disrespectful to part of Toei's Sentai legacy.

Granted, nobody ever said Toei had respect...

The Busters got most of Go-Busters Vs Gokaiger to themselves. It was basically a Go-Busters movie with a guest appearance from the Gokaigers. And if there were a separate movie for the dinosaur teams, people would only complain about Kyoryuger getting "too many" movies or launch into more whining about King being "overpowered (sic) Mary Sue"

The advanced screening was two days ago meaning you haven't seen it, so don't act like you know how big or small everyone's roles are. You should know by now that how these movies get promoted on their big selling point isn't always an indication of screen time. It's also not like it's unprecedented for the Vs Series to attempt something more than the usual current team + previous team format. At least this time the previous team is actually in it, unlike those Time saps and most of Magiranger.

From a promotional standpoint, all indications are that the Busters are getting the shaft for characters who shouldn't even be in this movie. I'm speaking from promotion, not from viewing.

Besides, I skipped Kyo, I'm never going to watch this, even if I do love Busters.

Well, cheer up. They'll probably get zero focus in next year's Vs - reportedly Kobayashi hates Vs Specials involving a series that she wrote, which is why Go-Busters Vs Gokaiger and Shinkenger Vs Go-onger ignore the returning team.

Why are so many people complaining about this and making out it's some grave injustice to Go-Busters, when their own Vs Special was basically a Go-Busters movie that treated the returning team like tagalongs?

Especially when the cast for Gokaiger are far more interesting than the cast for Go-Busters, anyways?

People say that Kyoryu/Aba/Zyu should have been a separate movie (I've seen a lot of people say this, not just Ice Ixa above) but then complain that Gokaiger had "too many" movies, even though it had the same number as Go-Busters??

That ...doesn't make any sense. Gokaiger is the only Sentai since Shinkenger started the trend to not have a Comeback V-Cinema, so if we're going by films with your name in the title Gokaiger had 4 and with this film upcoming the Go-Busters have also had 4 films.

And making the Vs Special with Go-Busters separate from the Zyu/Aba movie would give Kyoryuger FIVE movies ...

You mean a series that she didn't write. She did write the Shinkenger/Decade crossover, after all, and gave focus to both there, but she had written for both series before there. The issue with those Sentai crossovers is that she didn't work in one of the shows, which is likely why the Go-onger cast had reduced roles in Shinkenger Vs (and Sousuke had some rather weird writing, like the way he behaved in the initial battle), and she didn't even write other Vs movies (or any of the Rider crossovers aside from the Den-O ones where the other series only got a few minutes).

Anyway, Go-Busters Vs Gokaiger wasn't written by Kobayashi. Kento Shimoyama, the script writer of that movie, actually had written for both Gokaiger and Go-Busters before as a secondary writer, which is why the Go-Busters focus and the handling of Gokaiger (they even changed the name of the treasure they were searching for at the end of the tv series) was really strange and unexpected.

On the other hand, I remember Kento Shimoyama as a writer from an anime series a few years ago(Keroro). The show was really episodic, with a huge cast, so each episode had a lot of freedom to be basically about anything, and it was obvious that he favored some characters above others in his episodes. So, I guess that might be what was going on there - he let his preferences dominate the script again.

Wow, so professional. Between him, and the Doubutsu movie basically being used to throw a tantrum that viewers hadn't liked the show ... yeah, it doesn't really upset me that Go-Busters didn't perform well
