A South Korean woman has filed a civil lawsuit against top action actor Thatchakorn Yirum, alias Ja Phanom(Tony Jaa), accusing him of breaching a loan contract.

In the lawsuit lodged yesterday by Park Aun-hee, through her Thai lawyer, she said Mr Thatchakorn had signed a contract to borrow a million baht from her on July 4 last year.

Mr Thatchakorn promised to repay the loan after the movie Ong Bak 2 was produced and screened. But he failed to make payments after the film was released, she alleged.

She asked the Civil Court to order Mr Thatchakorn to repay the loan plus interest of 7.5%. A hearing is scheduled for Jan 25 to see if they can reach an out-of-court settlement.

Mr Thanakorn said he and Ms Park were business partners who bought films for distribution.

The dispute was a complicated matter, he said but declined to elaborate.

I hope Jaa has a solution for this or he's fucked.

hopefully his solution involves wall-running up an elephant, grabbing a sack of money from the struts of a passing chopper, then fighting his way through hundreds of extras to get the money to her.

As sad as it is, I believe it. Maybe Prachya Pinkaew can bail him out again.

How is it that Tony Jaa doesn't have his own money bin by now? :sly:

What'd he pull in from the American release of his last film? All the dude owes is $32,463. That should be chump change to an international star of kickassery.

Next to nothing. And the problem is that that loan is most likely just one of several that he's struggling to pay back. He broke the bank trying to take on all the responsibilities involved in making Ong Bak 2 himself, and he's still paying for it. Don't you remember when he broke down and fled into the jungle for like a week?

He did what? I completely missed that. :O_O:

Damn, thats all news to me. You'd think with the success of Ong Bak 2 in Thailand and a lot of Asia, he'd be able to pay that off.
