Wait the jet pack wasn't in the comic? That was the best part! Jet pack's are the ultimate symbol of nerd justice!

Really?

My Cuz and I looked dead at each other at that part thinking the same thing... "A fuckin' Jet pack."

Almost ruined the movie for him. I'm a lot more forgiving but that I did not like.

Loved the rest of the film and I loved the Comic Book. One of the better things I've read in a while.

From reading up on the comic, there's not a single change the movie made that I don't consider a 100% improvement.

Especially as far as Big Daddy is concerned.

Just finished reading the comics, they were good, however I prefer the film I like the characters more in the film, especially big daddy, so yer the changes to characters for the film were good

So I saw it and...meh. Don't really see what all the hype is about. There were some really funny moments, but most of the movie was just pointless blood, and it had the potential to be so much more.

Having seen the movie yesterday and having 24 hours to mentally chew on it, I can't help but compare Kick-Ass to another similarly flawed superhero movie: Hancock.

Both are fun at points and INCREDIBLY flawed at others. Both are acted well above the level of the material the actors have to work with and both feel like they were working with two entirely different scripts at the same time and hoping they would somehow come together in editing. Which it never really quite does.

On one hand, you have someone on the writing staff who wants to legitimately turn Kick-Ass into a well-meaning, heroic figure, with stuff like his "three-on-one" speech and "No Power, No Responsibility" monologue.

On the other hand... you have what is very much Millar's influence with the whole "BLARGHABLARGHA! MASTERBATION JOKES! BLOOD! GUTS! SCHOOL GIRL LOLI WITH A GUN! FIRST PERSON SHOOTER SEQUENCE! BLAAAGAAAAH!"

So... yeah, Kick-Ass has its moments, but it's one of those movies that you should be prepared for a very uneven time.
