I guess it was an interesting, but yet not unrepresented, twist with making Gremlin a unique Phantom.

Yes, I still have an issue with Wizard and Beast not turning into their powered-up forms sooner.

According to what Sora/Gremlin said in this ep, my theory about Sora and Gremlin was correct. Sora, as the Gate, did not die, and he managed to keep his human self when he got his Phantom form Gremlin. But it seems Sora/Gremlin, out of the Phantoms we've seen so far, is the only one. Therefore, this is why he calls other Phantoms by the name of their Gates.

A point of similarity with Haruto there..? Could Haruto have managed to gain a Phantom form if he was not picked up by White Wizard and forged his belt?

I think All-Dragon is what Haruto's Phantom form would look like..

Isn't that just the rudimentary Rider trait of Rider powers being modifications of the enemy's coming into play?

^^ Yep. Gremlin is sorta like Eternal as a darker Philip in Kamen Rider W. Daido Katsumi was basically Philip without Sokichi and Shotaro. So Gremlin is basically just Haruto without the magic.

Pretty good episode except I can't help but shake the feeling this is just like Libra's last few episodes last year in Fourze. I wonder if they'll make Sora as irrevocably evil as Hayami turned out to be.

*Slap* Don't you ever EVER compare Germlin to the far superior Eternal again! Ever!!

Here we go round the wizard's finger. :)

--Ah, the second curse of tokusatsu heroes besides being suckers for kids, idol worship. They just gotta fit that idol in there SOMEwhere! :rolleyes2:
--Beautician? Don't make me call Kamen Rider Drake up in this business! We will totally have a beautician throw down, right here and now! :nono2:
--So, this is the next gate. Sorry lady, but we all ready have a Chiaki, and he's a green samurai. :169:
--...Children's Day? :sly: You know, I can research Japanese Holidays as much as I like, but I'll always be surprised by the various different ways of celebrating them.
--Stop implying Haruto and Rinko are breaking up! They will get married one day, I tell you! :shakefist
--So, turning into a Phantom makes you the opposite of your usual personality type. I guess that makes it like an instant Dere button?
--...I still don't get it. Is Sora a phantom turned human or did he just keep his humanity? Do I really wanna feel sympathy for this guy? Just thinking that makes me uncomfortable... :confused2

Sora recognized and just saved her out of nowhere. ...Now I'm interested. I wish I could borrow the Den-Liner to see the next episode all ready. :170:

I wonder if Sora had cut Chiyaki's hair and that is how he knew her, but she failed to recognize him, did anyone notice how she treated Shunpei like a faceless servant?

I think him being "like Haruto" could be interesting. Is he his "evil twin" kind of like how (I'm a quarter through W and it seems as if, in regards to love for Fuuto) Kirihiko parallels Shotaro, but "serves evil" or his "monstrous reflection" which would be that he IS a monster, but he has the choice to act how he wishes with his power?

Sora has acted fairly evil up to this point, or is that just a ploy to get to find out the Phantoms' plot so he can stop it? I doubt he is going deep under cover.

The first Beast fight was wonderful. I had so much fun watching that scene, the Mantles are such a good gimmick! It's too bad Nitou couldn't handle Argos himself.

Did anyone notice that they retconned how NSA Section Zero got the Hurricane Dragon Stone!? NSA Section Zero Special Agent Kizaki's Gargoyle-Phantom-killed father-of-a-Gate Sempai found it at the water treatment place.... somehow. OK, maybe Sora dropped it off there, but the way it was presented made it seem as if he delivered it to their lobby himself.

Interesting, if expected direction for them to take Sora. I wonder how this will end up for him. The most predictable thing they could do, I guess, is for him to have a partial redemption of sorts and die next ep, but it would be interesting to see what happens if he sticks around for a while. What’s also intriguing to me I guess is the fact that gremlin/Sora being unique in this way was (apparently) what allowed him to win over Wiseman, so it seems that for a phantom to retain its humanity is not necessary just some freak occurrence but actually something desirable, even from the villains’ perspective.

That said, while Sora may have retained his humanity, apparently he’s still a twat – he was perfectly happy to kill Beast’s granny as well as the five gates from the previous arc, but when the phantoms want to target a young pretty girl, ooh, now they’ve gone too far (yeah yeah I know they will probably reveal there was more to it next episode).

I wonder if the show is going to hint or reveal that all his antics and trolling is in some sense due to the fact that he needs to constantly generate excitement to distract himself from his disgust (?) at what he has become.

If this arc does conclude with the possibility that some phantoms to retain their humanity (which I guess it should unless the next episode does a complete 180 turnaround), I wonder if they will re-visit this with Medusa when Mayu finally returns. It would be strange if Mayu’s arc involved her learning that well, actually its possible that a gate can survive the birth of their phantom, but well too bad you didn’t strike lucky in your case.

On a separate note, I thought it was a neat little touch how we first saw gremlin wielding those funky looking twin swords in the grandma arc, then in the infinity arc he strangely turned them into a huge pair of scissors to free Legion than this episode we learn oh, he used to be a hairdresser.
