Kamen Rider Wizard EP 32 "Part-Time Danger"

I just got around to watching this episode because a) the preview looked like crap and b) it was Beast centered, and I hate him. And, man, I think this one might be the worst Wizard episode. So obnoxious (Nitou and his idiot friend yelling everything; scene after scene of people obnoxiously talking with their mouths full) and not even a bit as funny as it thinks it is. And because Heisei Rider won't dare change its format, you already know it's going to have a second part. Ugh...

Thanks, Daisuke Ishibashi.

The AxCaliber finisher is still lame.

I was worried about this third writer being thrown on. The episode had some good moments, but was mostly just weird and off putting.

The lunch scene was a bit gross for some reason, though strangely comical for the first half (what was that 30 seconds? It felt like a LONG bit) maybe.

Why did Haruto J Nitou? What’s up with that? Beast looked really stupid waiting for Haruto to henshin. They should have done it at the same time.... just to save time.

Was the fighting unsettling for anyone else? It looked so slow and stuttery. I think. It was strange for sure.

It’s still cool that Infinity just takes shots to the chest like he does. Is that because of the diamond’s legendary hardness or because he is supposed to be really strong/impervious to attacks?

I like Nitou using the Mirage Magnum out of suit, but where does he keep it?

I think they were just trying to make him seem really badass by no-selling those blows, but for me it kinda backfired because Hobgoblin's suit actor wasn't putting any energy into his fake punches at all. I don't know if he was afraid he'd damage the Infinity suit or something, but those hits didn't look like they could bend a straw never mind injure a Rider.

I think the reason why the fights come off as awkward is because the Bogy Phantom is supposed to be moving like an ephemeral apparition (i.e., like a ghost). So he moves slow and floaty, but does as much damage. However, the effect does NOT come off that well and it was a poor artistic choice.

Wizard 32:

- I tried cutting onions with goggles once. Didn't work very well.

- So this guy does a spazzy act in front of what he thinks is a stranger? :redface2:

- Why does Shunpei always wear that stupid backpack?

- The only thing funny about Tsuchiya's idiotic routine is the perplexed look on that adjacent woman's face. Why would anyone trust such a creepy guy like Boggart anyway?

Has his actor bee in in anything else?

- Is sushi really that expensive in Japan that Nitou must make point of it?

- You're hardly a detective, Rinko, with what little you've been doing in the sum total of this show. You're a far cry from an Ichijo or Hikawa.

But that eating scene was an example of humor that actually works and isn't grating.

- .... Why couldn't Nitou have just hidden Haruto in his coat?

- Why are we back in Maki's house? Did Boggart move in after he died?

- Why is this a two-parter?? It had a definite ending without any cliffhanger. Why stretch this out for no reason? Or at least why have this kind of ending as though everything is concluded?

- "Enter Nirvana". I haven't heard 'nirvana' in a toku in I don't know how long. Or ever.

Kosuke reunites with his best friend in this okay episode of Wizard!

- This episode was... not what I was expecting to follow up Infinities debut arc. I hate ever having to use the term filler but that's exactly what this arc is feeling like, not that plot development is Wizard's strong suit. Now Wizard has had some wacky stuff in the past, but this episode took it up to 11 and the show suffered for it. I couldn't take Hobgoblin or any of the Gates seriously, and that's detrimental to a show like Wizard. And as a trade off, as things became wackier Gremlin became creepier!

- I don't see Beast Hyper losing to Hobgoblin as the creators nerfing Beast in favor of the new Ultimate Form. Infinities super speed just made him more adept at handling Hobgoblin.

- I'll admit though, I think the Phantoms plan had merit. It was pulled off ridiculously, but otherwise it was a good plan.

- Can't wait next time for Tsuchiya's return, the return of Hobgoblin, and Beast Vs. Hobgoblin!

My God this show..... it's not doing anything outright bad, but this show is just... torture. It's just so....... I dunno... don't so much of nothing for me. No characters really explode to me and I don't feel like this is an established world. Just too many characters acting wonky and goofy filling up the screen and a good guy that's maxed out at God Mode most of the time.

Show might be better if it was leading Nitou. I like the idea of a guy fighting to stay alive and was once an archaeologist. Haruto though... dude is really losing me.
