Haruto and Phoenix settle things once and for all in this thrilling episode of Wizard!
- Wizard and Phoenix's final fight was great! It had some nice choreography, especially when all the Dragon Forms came out and tried to overwhelm Phoenix, and the tension surrounding the fight that was built up over the episode made finally watching it a real treat. Even All Dragon Vs. Phoenix wasn't half bad, even if it consisted of some low quality CG. And how Wizard ultimately defeated Phoenix was both brilliantly ironic and awesome. I couldn't ask for a more fitting end to the immortal Phantom. I can certainly say I didn't see it coming, so points for that. I was hoping since the Flame Dragon arc for Wizard and Phoenix's rivalry to culminate in a satisfying final showdown, and I'm pleased to see the show come through with that. I feel their rivalry has set a new bar for Rider rivalries and their conclusions that I hope the next series can maintain.
- All Dragon's debut was short but impressive. Definitely a more fitting Mid-Season Upgrade than Magnet States. I like how the form incorporates all the dragon limbs from the other Dragon Forms, and as a whole I think it looks nice. I like Flame Dragon's design already so having it be the base is a plus, and all the dragon limbs on one body looks pretty good. And that Rider Kick :buttrock:.
If Infinity has one, it'll have a lot to live up to. I am kinda disappointed they didn't give the form an insert song. Wizard is being pretty bad about that. All in all though, a great debut for the form, though now I'm left to wonder how frequently the form will appear from here on. I doubt Toei has the budget for consecutive appearances of an all CG form. And there's still the mystery of what exactly achieving the form means for Haruto in the future, as it seems to be all part of the White Wizard's plan.
- So long Phoenix! You were a good rival villain and an entertaining character in your own right. Take solace in the fact that you lasted a lot longer than most Main Rider rivals. Though while I doubt we'll be seeing him again anytime soon, the creators have an "out" in case they ever want to bring him back. Endlessly regenerating might eventually make him strong enough to resist the sun's effects and leave him free to come back for revenge. Though that's if the creators feel there's more to tell with Phoenix.
- To those questioning why Haruto didn't let Kosuke absorb him, consider that Phoenix's revivals were getting faster, regenerating himself in almost seconds. There's a chance that Phoenix would've just revived before Beast could properly absorb him, and then he'd probably be stronger than All Dragon. I can see why Haruto wouldn't risk it.
- Haruto and Kosuke's bromance is progressing nicely. Never a good Rider series without one after all!
- Beast rolling a one with Chameleo was the worst Rider Finisher of all time... which is what made it so hilarious.
- Well with Phoenix gone it looks like Gremlin is going to take his place with Medusa, though obviously his true loyalties are still shrouded in mystery. I doubt Medusa is happy with the arrangement though, since Gremlin seems to get on her nerves more than Phoenix ever did. Their pairing will certainly be interesting to watch. Gremlin's Phantom form also looks pretty cool.
- Can't wait next week for Kosuke's grandmother, some action with Gremlin, and Magical Girl Beast!?
