Kamen Rider Wizard, Ep 1 - "The Wizard Uses Rings"

I like how people say that "newer talking belts are so obviously toys". Every single belt, even Ichigo is so blatantly a toy there no further grade. No I am dead serious it is not even an opinion. Every single rider belt is SO OBVIOUSLY A TOY none of them are more or less obvious because they are in the infinity grade of obvious so high, that there cannot be any difference between each. It's like saying that One explosion that blows up entire universe is bigger than other. They are so big, that differences don't matter

Now to be serious: I honestly don't understand what the problem with it being like a toy. How can you watch Tokusatsu if that bothers you even in the slightest? I've been watching Gokaigers alongside one kid and he went "Their swords are plastic"... Heck, super sentai has 50% of battle looking like two kids playing their transformers toys in the sandbox.
The only weapon in entire Heisei era of Kamen Rider that at least tried to look like a weapon was Agito's flame form sword. And even that is not successful.

Thinking that sounds are obnoxious? I understand. I found them amusing and catchy and fun in a very cheesy kind of way, but I still can understand. Some people are more invested in sound and stupid sounds take them out of the mood. I treat show and belt sounds as a completely separate entity, so no matter how they sound, it doesn't affect anything in the show for me, but I still can understand that.
But being like a toy? Seriously how come you all guys worship Super Sentai and I can barely watch it, yet belt in Kamen Rider Wizard is fine with me, but you can't stand the belt... Yellow shovel thingie from Boukengers as a weapon! Mandragora and in fact every single mascot! Giant toy transformer rip offs slowly and awkwardly slapping each other around! Yeah, that's all amazing, Rider belt being a toy... BETRAYAL!

Nice first episode. Liked it a lot more than Fourze's.
I see about 2 things similar to Hibiki (the bird gadget and the villains being a man and woman).
Look forward to more episodes.

Wizard 1:
- "It's out duty to protect the public"? Isn't that rather obvious?

Yeah that translation was a bit weird.
The way she said it wouldve been more among the lines of "It's our duty to protect the public, after all."
Don't know if that helps or anything ^^;

2) The ritual was done by an unknown agency, and the goal was to partially awaken Phantoms inside of people, to give them the powers, but not turn them into Phantoms fully. The ritual going wrong resulted in the Phantoms being born into our world. In this scenario, the two main bad guys probably were "failed" from the ritual, and Haruto was the survivor who got powers but not turned.

Given that there apparently weren't Phantoms in the world before the ritual, it couldn't have been to stop them.

Despair brings the desire to live. SUBARASHIIIII CAKE BOSS WANTS EVERYONE TO AWAKEN THEIR PHANTOMS.
Or Foundation X. I'm okay with that, too.

Did White Wizard (or something) get any promo beside saying he existed? He doesn't have a toy or a scan, so I'm getting that he's either only showing up on this episode and giving up his powers, or there's something really wrong with TOEI this year.

Wut? I'd think this looks like a weapon...

Giant toy transformer rip offs slowly and awkwardly slapping each other around!
You need to watch more mecha clips:

Yellow shovel thingie from Boukengers as a weapon! Mandragora
I doubt every person on this forum likes those things... I know I don't.

Kamen Rider Wizard is awesome :anime:
the action scenes were great
I enjoy the rings and style changes,The Phantoms are very cool
I don't really like when Kamen Rider shows fight CGI Monsters, they should do that for the movies,Also it needs more funny scenes

His belt doesn't seem to be Wizard's. In the preview scene both belts are seen at once. Anyway, there's really nothing "wrong". It's not the time for the secondary Rider yet, so, even if the white wizard counts as a Rider, he wouldn't get merchandising presence due to how early he's appearing. The actual secondary Rider will be someone else, probably more distinctive from Wizard. Keep in mind that every series with more than 3 (new) Riders, aside from Ryuuki, has actually done badly merchandising-wise.

Alternatively, maybe the only magician who will count as a Kamen Rider will be Wizard itself? That could leave space for multiple other wizards to appear throughout the show in minor secondary roles, even if they can transform too, which could be rather refreshing at this point.

You mean sort of like what they did with Hibiki?

You'd be really really right if it wasn't for all that wrong **** you keep taking about.

Well if it works for Fox News....

Episode one scored a 7.1%, actually managing to get a first episode bump that Fourze didn't quite have.

I think this proves that the audience would actually tune it in if they are interested, and it could suggest that despite the fact that the producer of Fourze wanted to have the series put a smile on children's smile in the wake of that terrible earthquake, his good intention may not have returned equal amount of goodwill from the viewers.
