Kamen Rider Wizard, Ep 1 - "The Wizard Uses Rings"

So... For ever Phantom that appears in the series one person has died in agony... Wizard might be a little too dark

It's not a problem for me personally, but still quiet a difference from Fourze.

Wizard 1:

- "It's Showtime" is better than "Switch On", but still not that stellar. I didn't really like "Everything Goes" as an OP but its refrain is rather catchy. I think the last OP I really liked was the second Hibiki theme. Maybe "Journey Through The Decade" too.

I think of Big O every time I hear Showtime.

- Has anyone noticed they keep rehashing birds for the cutesy helper bots?

What's wrong with this? He has a Unicorn for land, a Garuda for air, and a Kraken for sea.

- This belt is the best-looking in a while, but it's more annoying than Meteor's and singing OOO's! Who at Bandai thinks this is a great idea?!

I have no problem with the talking belts. In fact, I think it is pretty cool to listen to.

Actually, she's reminding me of Gotou. She's a female Gotou. A world-saving idealist. At least with Rinko though, I can sort of see her as a cop. Gotou didn't look the part at all.

How is Gotou not looking the part of a cop? That makes no sense.

- Looks like this will be another year where I have an issue with the Henshin process (Four in a row now). Why doesn't Haruto say it after he flips the thing on his Ring, rather than before? It makes the process seem slower.

I fail to see the problem with this.

I hope diving into the Underworld doesn't become routine like Den-O's time traveling after the week's Imajin. I also wonder if there will be an episode like the Perseus and Pisces arcs, where a Phantom doesn't side with the villains and either goes rogue, plays hero, or tries regaining his humanity.

It probably will for the first 10 or so episodes and then start to chill down a bit. But then, it will probably only occur on eveyr other episode when they start going back to the two parters.

Don't you get horrible pixels? Releases are usually in 10bit and it's usually unsupported by just about everything but PC with proper codecs. I mean after all there's no way to play 10bit files on ps3/xbox360 and usual hardware media players.

Hmmmmm, this is a weird one. My Wizard file has some weird changing of colors, but when I watched a CarRanger episode today from Haro, it was perfectly fine.

I guess then, why would people use a codec that only works on the PC? That is stupid when people want to watch their files on their tvs?

First episode has left a pretty good impression I must say. Didn't like the doofy belt at first, but it's quickly growing on me. I like Haruto quite a bit, he's an interesting character, doesn't seem as obnoxious as Gentaro was.

You know, I'm curious who could eat out whom in a doughnut eating competition: Haruto, or Homer Simpson.

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. All I said was that they keep reusing birds, and they all look alike.

You didn't read the rest of it. The talking was ok in Ryuki, Faiz, Blade and Kabuto. But with OOO, Meteor and Wizard, it's getting more and more obnoxious and/or stupid. Can you really take Meteor's belt voice seriously? It sounds so obviously like a toy, and a bad one at that.

At least with a belt like Kiva's, being talkative would make sense. But even Kivat didn't yap like this belt does.

How is Gotou not looking the part of a cop? That makes no sense.

Because he looked like a 19 year-old prettyboy model and not an experienced cop?

I wonder if you even remember who Gotou is, given your rather sieve-like memory.

I fail to see the problem with this.

It doesn't look smooth. I hated how Shotaro and Phillip would pose and say "Henshin" before even putting their Memories into the belt, and how the Memories would say their names twice every time they were inserted. I never got why Gentaro didn't flip all four switches on his belt at once when transforming instead of always going one at a time. Why can't Haruto say Henshin and swipe the ring after he has set everything up?

Which is all sorts of weird when you learn the actress is only 19.

She is? Yu Takahashi in Kiva was only 17 yet looked far older. Strange.

Oh no, because someone who isn't fat, idiotic, and doesn't like to eat surely cannot be a cop.

...............

I don't think you have a clue what you're babbling about now.

The actors playing cops in Kuuga and Agito were believable. Riku Kagami as a cop in Kabuto was believable. And I just said Rinko was believable. Gotou as a veteran cop was laughable. A rookie, maybe. But not someone with lots of experience. He just looks too young.

No, the viewers have use a codec or a player with the codec to view it if they are having problems. If you want to watch it on a TV, your best chance is to use the SD. That's only 720p-ish but, should work on a tv.

I don't think it was said he was a veteran cop. The show (or he) said that he used to work with the police until Kougami (I think) came up to him to work with the RideVendor Squad cause of his potential and his desire to work in something bigger.
