Well it was mostly about Kobayashi

I seriously wanted to beat the ever loving **** out of the people that were continuously bashing her to kingdom come

The woman gave us Time Ranger and Ryuki, the woman has more than evident skills

Just because she took a misstep with Den-O doesn't give anyone the right to call her a lukewarm writer

Actually, I believe the double tap people worry about is Den-O and Shinkenger, and their related films. I'd personally also throw Casshern Sins on the pile, though Blassreiter wasn't bad.

I'm unsure of the problem of you assuming awesome over some else assuming not awesome. Both sides have equal evidence.

This is also assuming you believe 'awesome writer on X' means awesome writer on everything. Writers are people. They sometimes misstep. They sometimes fail. They sometimes lose that which made them great. Sometimes, they find it again. But we don't know in this case.

I liked Casshern Sins!

I think much of it hinged on the gorgeous art and animation. The writing was decent, but Kobayashi's style reared again: The first half has some great stuff in the very beginning and then putzes around. The second half starts getting into the meat of the story, but it's a solid 6/10 or 7/10 where she drops alot of hints. And the ending, where it's a rush to finish up, and most of those hints are left on the cutting room floor.

Again, I don't feel she's horrible. She is a competent writer. I just feel that following Double's Riku Sanjo will only make her look worse. I feel like with the concept she has to work with, my best hope for awesome is to make the entire thing, absurd plus. Go so crazy that you come out the other side into awesome. Much like (as I mentioned before) Gurren Lagann.

Could it work out well? Sure. Is there cause of trepidation? Sure.

Actually, it's been pretty consistent. Those who don't like the suit still probably don't like the suit. Those who are afraid of the writing are probably still afraid of what could be.

As I've said, TaToBa is still quite painful. And Koba will probably turn out a good first 5 or 6 episodes, 10 fluff episodes, ramp up to midgrade form, decent mid season climax, more fluff with story hints, and a decent 5 episodes at the end that won't answer all question. Which is fine, but after Sanjo's work on Double it smarts a bit.

heh, funny, it's both for me XD
And you've probably pretty much said how the show will go XD
Unless if they surprise us o.o

Don't the writers make the concept though. It's kinda there own fault if they make it too crazy.

I've gotten the feeling recently that the writers are handed designs for the suits, bikes, and extra toys, and told to write a scenario around it. Which in Kobayashi's defense is probably a more difficult situation these days than it was before.

I admit I was down on this show because of Kobayashi. But then Den-O has already eaten into the franchise to such an extent that OOO won't be able to do the same. As long as she doesn't pull any more of the sexist, nationalistic crap she did in Shinkenger, I'm willing to give her another chance.

I hope Eiji doesn't change his style like Shotaro kept his all through W.

Do you mean his clothes/look or personality?

Kobayashi wrote Timeranger. If she can do what she did for Timeranger, in OOO, it'd be great. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt though.

What I think Kobayashi does very very well is create characters. Like in Den-O, the Imagin and the Riders were always fun, interesting, likable characters but the story they were in wasn't necessarily top-notch. Same in Ryuki (although that story was a bit tighter). So, if nothing else, we're probably in for some great characters this season.

His dressing style, like Shotaro always wore a tie, vest and the fedora, Eiji have been seen with some nice colourful shirts, I hope we wont lose them later during the series.
