I mean... you know, realistically speaking, the JSDF or UN should've long since rolled in with tanks and ludicrous high-power weaponry by now. The Security Council should be taking a vote on whether or not it's acceptable to nuke Japan in order to end the Greed menace. That won't happen because OOO just isn't that sort of show.

The Greeds and Yummies don't really behave as openly as the Grongi or Unknowns do, so the fact that the public and government isn't shown to be actively reacting to them isn't that big a deal. As far as the police and citizenry are concerned, a bunch of random people are doing crazy things. You can cite Uva's and Gamel's Yummies as those that have blatantly caused a ruckus, but the rest haven't. It's still a long way from Grongis and Unknowns dropping out of nowhere and slaughtering people at massive scales.

Setting tone and sticking to it is a part of storytelling and stories just aren't obligated to use a realistic tone. OOO is whimsical and doesn't want to be taken too seriously and that's not going to change anytime soon. If this was a quasi-realistic show like Kuuga or Nexus, then you'd see the Kougami troopers winning more fights... but they'd also probably have main character status.

If these were ordinary cops, I might agree with you. But Kougami seems especially interested in handling these monsters, to the point of mass-producing weapons to fight them. It only makes sense for his soldiers to be somewhat competent and use them, yet so far it's only OOO who is getting supplied. Why all the extra arsenal if none of it ultimately goes to the soldiers? Unless somewhere down the road there is going to be a mass-produced Birth army or something.

Ya know... is it just me or the concept of shooting CELL MEDALS at monsters MADE OF THE STUFF who can EAT THEM THROUGH THEIR SKINS is REALLY REALLY REALLY stupid?! I mean completely and utterly senseless?

I mean if it powers up the gun to shoot lasers then sure but shooting medals??

'kougami' is a three syllables word... think its the name of a combo?
