- I like Eiji. He's different from Shotarou and more along the lines of Kenzaki or Godai. He's a very good hero, and he's not stupid--he worked out that Ankh needed him, and refused to allow Ankh to ignore humans in danger.

This right here. I REALLY like Eiji, he's driving the show for me right now. He's like a yo-yo. He can appear completely stupid while he's just living life, but then when all the chips are on the line, he will show us why he's got it where he counts in terms of heroics. He's also got a pure heart, which is an easy way to win main characters over for me.

I also still have high hopes for Hina, though knowing how Rider tends to treat its gals, I'm still 60% expecting to be disappointed. Still, I would really love it if it was shown she could be someone who could, say, hold her own against a Yummy or three, maybe help out in an episode once in a while.

...and it's a good thing I like the cast so much because the action is so far just not doing for me one bit. I'm pretty sure Carranger had more interesting choreography at this point.

- The main villain bites. He's the evil Owner, and I'm not impressed.

...you know, I would say that too if I actually considered him a main villain and not just Evil Owner. If he's supposed to be a Big Bad--which I don't buy--then I agree with you. But as just Evil Owner? Cake Dude is SUBARASHI

I was taking a closer look at the Ankh creature effect. It looks like the index and middle fingers are the actor's actual fingers, painted and with fake nails.
Got plenty of shots for reference, on both actors.

Also it looks like they're trying to set the explosion flashback in another country. Notice the wall hanging and the soldier's helmet.

Yeah, just him being him is what is working for me right now. Not him being a villain

But you just know he's going to be the villain, or at the very least the witless pawn of his assistant along with Foundation X

They are. That makes it harder to explain why they have the same set although one is modified.

I don't think so. It's probably that they don't have many places to film around their base.

I'm sure. For now, I'm appreciating him being him though that could change. When he starts killing people let me know.

First episode was fun, but based on the posts it gets too formulaic from then on. :/ I'll keep giving it a shot though because I like the idea behind the Greeed and I just love making a Scott Pilgrim reference whenever there are coins.
