Another thing you have to consider is that Eiji told hina that her brother was undercover. Seeing him before hand, she could of probably thought he changed his looks for the assignment.

Well that was...hmmm...better but still not great. Kougami is over the top, but I can't say its in an enjoyable way. I'm already tired of the bike guys "I have no expression". Eiji again has very little character development. And his sending the message becomes a moot plot point literally a minute later...The opening episodes imo are not strong. Ankh gets some development, but, after enjoying him in ep 1, this is more standard "I'm a monster, I don't save humans...alright I will because I need you so I promise"....meh. Also, candroids kinda bug me. I don't know why but they do. Maybe it just makes the series seem a bit too gimmicky...we're two episodes in and they're already going "BUY EVERYTHING!!!!"

I'd say you could just the basic character concept at this point, though. Not as an objectively good/bad one, but definitely as something you did/didn't enjoy.
