The police officer died even though he was more than capable of taking his seat belt off of him... open the door, crawl on the ground a bit....

Also, Ankh attaching itself/himself to a human... I would at least expected that dead human to have had his arm cut off from the accident first and then dying, hence the take over... but, it is a kids show afterall.. :laugh:

Did he die? I though he was posessed. I think it would be better for the story if he was fighting for his humanity....and stuff...

I didn't even realize the cop was Ankh body till the hair changed. XD

Judging from the OP itself, I'm guessing their conflict will be that of a sister having lost her brother, but he's still up and walking, and can't really tell her about the Greed and all. So that might create some tension, with her love or something starts to warm him up.

LOL......as I'm correct then. But tell me matt, was there anything realistic about Fuuto or were you seeing the same "Disneyland-eseque" world that I saw from Fuuto? Because Fuuto was too bright for my eyes to look for any darkness despite the Terror Dopant lurking around along with the Utopia Dopant waiting in the wings for his opportunity.

You make it sound like when you get off the exit to enter the city everything turns black and white and the only visible color is red and that's only seen when someone bleeds. Like there should be a gravely voice-over going "The city is my whore!"

Fuuto is a fictional city in the stylized fantasy world of a Japanese superhero tv show aimed at a general audience with a target towards kids. It has both it's lighter side and darker side and in that respect it is like any city in real life.

These sides are exaggerated for both fantastic, dramatic, and comedic effect in the context of the kind of story being told. The very existance of people addicted to the power they gain from Gaia Memories and the motivations that lead them to that end clearly show that darker side. It's a fantasy world that is still populated by human beings with human emotions even if it's not strictly adhering to the world right outside your window.

BTW, how the hell are people getting "Den-O vibes" from this first episode of OOOs, and I'm not?

I really see no "Den-O esque" vibes at all in this first episode, and I hope that I won't be getting some in the near-to-distant future from this series even though Kobayashi is writing the series.

You clearly missed the Greeed talking in the underground tunnel. Did you see how they took turns talking? It doesn't at all remind you of the Imagins talking during Liner Form?

The city not having a name is not a new thing for KR.
Most Rider series take place in "Generic Large Japanese City" even though it's mostly filmed in Tokyo. I can think of a few exceptions (Kuuga, Kabuto).

Fuuto was in many ways a character in it's own right, so it needed a name.

I'm aware, I just figured that since this new era of Rider is going to go along with a shared continuity, it would be neat if all the cities were fictionalized the way that Fuuto was. It's looking like OOO won't do that, but I still think the setting has a flavor distinct from Fuuto. At the least, they're clearly picking different filming spots to make it feel like a different city -- at least in the first episode.
