She's completely devoid of personality other than "cutesy shy girl", despite her super strength (can't have her be too threatening to the poor men!) I seriously hope the show does NOT turn her into Eiji's girlfriend, or wife if rumours about the movie are to be believed. At least Akiko had a spine, and independent thoughts

Personally, I like Hina. Akiko tried to be Natsumikan with the whole slipper gig, but it ended up looking like she was trying to hard. Also, Akiko didn't contribute much to W anyway, except for catching Phillip's body when he got knocked out. At least Natsumi was relevant to the loose plot of Decade, even if it was in a movie.

He didn't have a personality. The writers thought it more than enough that he was Kuuga, and didn't bother.

How is that true at all? Many episodes completely ignored his "Kuuga" side and still featured him.

People complain about him because the cool feature (Kuuga) wasn't around enough, with the writers just focusing on him as the moral centerpiece of the group and his relation to Yashiro, rather than on the cool factor called "Kuuga" (Or, in Inoue's case, just using him as comic relief and disregarding everything else).

Look at how many people complained back then about his participation in the Agito World arc just because he didn't transform into Kuuga, even though he fought as G3-X.

Many fan's of the older shows seem to forget that. DCD was in the beginning fanservice for the old riders, to bring them all together. Then it was DCD's story until the end. The older fans just can't accept it.

Akiko tried to be Natsumikan with the whole slipper gig, but it ended up looking like she was trying to hard.

That style of writing female Rider leads-- giving them an attack that "deflates" the protagonist-- pretty much started with Hana and Momotaros in Den-O. Akiko is probably the best-written character to come out of that style to date. We pretty know what she wants out of life, she has her own clear personal motivations, and she isn't just there to be the protagonist's arm candy. Hell, she hooks up with another supporting character!

Natsumi is pretty much one of the worst female Rider leads to date, even though she's one of the few that transforms. She has no consistent personality traits and, apparently, no desires in life that extend beyond following Tsukasa around. We don't know anything about Natsumi's skills, preferences, or aspirations. Frankly, Hina as of right now in OOO is a much better character, her behavior is clearly motivated and more consistent.

Man you're way off base if you think Akiko didn't contribute anything to W. I think a lot of the hate for her is clearly superficial but this just misses the mark so much it's not even funny.
