If they come from different sources, like these two, they can have different names. One is old (even though it doesn't make sense) and the other is developed by Kougami.

Oh, it's possible. Just not probable.

Realize, the OOO Driver isn't actually referred in the show by that name. That's just for the toy. Expect the Birth Driver to actually be named in the show because well, tech Rider.

I know, but the creation of a new device usually means that it will be named. The OOO Driver was just there. It's assuming everyone knows what it is and what it does, so it doesn't have to be named.

This dude looks too much like Ixa IMO. Why do most secondary riders have to have guns? This idea is kinda getting played out. Ixa, Accel gun/sword, Diend, Zeronos, Garren, G3 etc.

I'm presuming this refers to Movie Taisen 2011.

This dude looks too much like Ixa IMO. Why do most secondary riders have to have guns? This idea is kinda getting played out. Ixa, Accel gun/sword, Diend, Zeronos, Garren, G3 etc.

A sword is a solid, heroic weapon. The next step is to contrast it against a modern weapon. Hence the gun.

The other alternative is the hero uses a staff and the secondary uses a sword, at which point the idea is that one weapon is more pacifistic than the other.

Storytelling is about conflict.

Someone needed a gun. Our main rider doesn't have a gun based form this year so the second rider is the next choice.

Yes but it's still fits in with OOO. OOO doesn't really look like ancient tech we're just suppose to roll with it.

Kougami is using what has been learned from the medals to create weapons with modern technology, so it does make sense that he gave OOO a sword from that technology which he didn't have before and it makes sense that if he can make a gun, he would.
