Kamen Rider Kuuga - Talkback

I don't really care for dark/bleak since I'm a pretty happy guy, but Kuuga seems fun. Yusuke (Wudai ) seems really nice.

Anyway, I just watched 3 and 4. I take it that kick-ass bike he got is going to be the one he uses from now on? He did some nice stunts with it in 4 but that chase was stupid as hell. I kept wanting him to hop off that damned bike and whoop some ass!

Okay, one HUGE problem I have with these HKs is that, whenever we see the Unidentified Beings, the subs disappear, and I have no idea what they're saying. Is this the same with everyone's, or what?

Edit: Another sidenote. I emailed Ken from CA and found out my Agito DVDs are done and will be on their way next week! :buttrock: :buttrock:

Lol..Godai --> Wudai. Haha.

Bike Stunts get sweeter. Later on. Bike-centric eps. woot.

That's Grongi Speech my friend. There are several versions of that out. 1) You can get the raws (avis) which may or may not have the japanese subs of the Grongi Speak. 2) There is a site you can go to that will translate the Grongi's Speech. I forget the website unfortunately.

Agito :buttrock: Watch Kuuga before you watch Agito.

I sort of thought that it wasn't really JP. Oh well. As far as Agito, its possible I'll finish Kuuga before Agito gets here.

I love when Godai's first getting the hang of Dragon Form and uses the Dragon Rod to beat the Sith out of that Kaijin!

Each time he gets his new forms...it rocks. My biggest complaint about Kuuga. Waaaay too many fing cliffies and 2nd parters! Lucky, I had the whole thing; I would never have had the patience to sit through each one waiting for it. That guy was a prick...that grongi, he had it coming to him ^^

No joke, there were times near the end of the series where I would watch 5 or 6 episodes in one sitting just because it was so addictive and well-written.

Damn, I just saw that episode. Man that was sweet. Speaking of, after that episode I gotta know: does the Belt grants Yusuke the ability to heal faster, or is he just pushing himself a lot farther than he should?

It's the belt, but I'm sure Godai's high spirits and willpower help him out a good deal too.

Just watched episodes 6-9. :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

I love Kuuga. It started out slow, but its so fun to watch.

Some questions:

-Why are the cops so stupid? I guess you could also call it bravery, but they're about to go into a building full of UnID'd Beings. They are going to get PWNED.

-Are there really TWO HUNDRED of these things? Not even Kuuga could take all those.

-Is No. 0 the "big bad" that Kuuga doesn't fight until the end?

-Do all the forms except Mighty and Growing have weapons? (Simple yes or no, since hearing what the other forms do would make me sad. :disappoin )

-What's up with the counter things on the Grongi's arms?

-Why is Godai's sis so mad at him? I'd be happy if my bro was a kick-ass superhero! :anime:

-Can Pegasus form use projectile weapon as his weapon, or just a gun, and if he can, do they all look the same?

They basically do what they can, even if it doesn't always look very smart. I think that's one thing Kuuga did very well, establishing a certain level of realism in how the police respond to the Grongi, in a sort of "Well, what would you do?" way. They really can't do much good, but they still try, even if it usually ends in a massive body count, which I think is a kind of nice message- they really put their lives on the line. As the show goes on though the police do start scoring some victories, both on their own and together with Kuuga.

-Are there really TWO HUNDRED of these things? Not even Kuuga could take all those.

In a weird twist, a lot of them are defeated "off-screen"; they're actually given names and (by the police) numbers, and IIRC one episode we see a book with stickers representing what form Kuuga used to defeat them. And I know at least one we see in a blurry photograph at some point (and I think there was an audio drama released that also dealt with one of the missing Grongi.) Apart from that...

(big spoiler, just in case...)
[HIDE]#0, N Daguba Zeba, kills a lot of the weaker Grongi off towards the end of the series, because being too slow/weak/whatever to advance they no longer have any value in the game.[/HIDE]

-Is No. 0 the "big bad" that Kuuga doesn't fight until the end?

Yep.

-Do all the forms except Mighty and Growing have weapons? (Simple yes or no, since hearing what the other forms do would make me sad. :disappoin )

All of them...no.

-What's up with the counter things on the Grongi's arms?

It's part of their whole killing game; they kill somebody, they score points, and advance. It's pretty cryptic early on but it'll start to make more sense later in the series.

-Why is Godai's sis so mad at him? I'd be happy if my bro was a kick-ass superhero! :anime:

I believe she was just concerned about him, because he's pretty much all the family she has (their dad died when they were very young, and I can't remember if their mom is still around at the time of the series.)

I haven't seen those early episodes in a while, so sorry if there was another plot point that was the actual reason (and there's gonna be a bunch involving Godai's sister and the most dysfunctional preschool in Japan. )

-Can Pegasus form use projectile weapon as his weapon, or just a gun, and if he can, do they all look the same?

He turns whatever he's holding into the Pegasus Bowgun, although I think it has to be a projectile weapon (he always uses a pistol.) Dragon seems to need something long (pole, pipe, 2x4, etc.) and Titan usually uses the Try-Accell Stick handlebar thing from the bike.
