Kamen Rider Kuuga General Discussion Thread

It's kind of funny, but, Kuuga really is Kamen Rider's Ultraman Tiga.

They went a different way with the story, but beyond that, the multiform gimmick and final form and such, all tie with Kuuga pretty well.

...infact I wish the effects in Kuuga were as good as Tiga's. Tiga's form change is nearly seemless-Kuuga is....a lot of terrible CGI>

Kuuga's early CGI was bad, but it got a lot better towards the middle of the show with the Rising Form arc etc. I think another problem with his henshin is that it was very organic. The armor came from within Godai, rather than every other show where the armor appears from elsewhere. That might have been part of the issue.

Except the show I just compared Kuuga to, unfavorably, is even OLDER. Kuuga came out in 2000. Tiga came out in 1996.

Yet it had superior form shifts, I feel.

It never crossed my mind that Tiga was before Kuuga. I always thought they were from around the same years in production. But oh well, Toei's current CGI still isn't that good.

It happens about 2:46, but I'd just watch the fight honestly. It's a pretty neat fight with some nice moments and an interesting villain.
