Kamen Rider Kuuga General Discussion Thread

I don't remember that, but I remember on those days where the police and Godai would be staking outside of a Grongi crime scene, he would bring Sakurai some Anpan and Milk haha.

So honestheart17 followed the advice of many to start his KR journey with Kuuga..nice one..=)

I like the way Godai calms everyone around him..he is the only rider in this series but he never failed to take away the fear of the cops or his friends when fight the grongi..

I remember a scene where he was on his bike on his way to fighting a grongi and he sends a message thru 2 way radio telling the cops to "don't forget to wear your jackets..you might get colds because of the cold weather."..then you see the cops' faces go from scared to a smiling face..=)

Yup :)
After Kuuga gonna watch Agito, which I hear is really good as well.

I kinda like a lone hero. I mean I love teams, but I like them more with there own individual powers and strengths

The episode that brings Godai's teacher is one of my personal favorites. Poor guy just wanted to know that he had made a difference in the life of even one of his student's and he did because Godai took those lessons directly to heart and he grew to be a hero protecting the smiles of everyone.

Ah, that arc was beautiful, I love how it tied in with the one about the kid too. I think both arcs were very touching. I really wasn't expecting the teacher to return after that arc. Totally made Godai's thumb up signature way more meaningful than just a signature.

I thought the one with the kid was the weaker and one of my least favorite arcs. However, I say that more for how it was done than anything having to do with this story idea. Besides, I'm a total sucker for when a Kamen Rider (or any superhero really) is being a friend to a child.

Basically in retrospect I think there are a few episodes of Kuuga that didn't really benefit from the two-episode structure. I think the episodes involving the kid would have been better tightened up to one episode. I really think you still could have had the intended emotions being expressed without having to spend so much time lingering on him going to his old neighborhood which took from the main action in a way that was a bit irritating.

At the same time though the fact that the show made everyday people so much of a priority is one of the things that makes it stand out for me.

That was the one episode I didn't like. Then again, the action scenes in both episodes were short, they were both damn good fights. I also liked the villain in the episode too.

But I couldn't have said it better myself, Kuuga showed the life goes on even in the face of constant danger of rampaging monsters. There are other problems out there, and Godai tried to help all of them.

I just finished the last episode of Kuuga... and it was every bit as awesome as I was told. It felt very "old school" to me. The fight scenes were not as flashy as today, but they were still great. They had a lot more emotion to them and felt more real.
I also liked the characters. All of them were important and unlike in other Rider shows ( I'm looking at you Faiz) they were all likeable, even some of the villains.
Another positive aspect for me was the police work that was shown. Modern Rider shows tend to exclude the police or only use them as comic relief. Sometimes it felt more like a crime show with Ichijou and the others trying to find out how the Grongi operate etc.

In conclusion, a very good show, recommended to everyone. Its age shows a bit, and it might be a bit slow at times, but Kuuga is never the less a really cool show.
