Kamen Rider Kuuga Fansub Project

One of the reasons why there is some point that I got bored with Kuuga is that the Grongi language is not translated. Subbing the Grongi language is a good thing especially for new fans.

The villains discuss things in their "translated" dialog long before the audience is supposed to know about them. If you translate all of the Grongi in your fansubs then you are basically going to ruin a pretty big chunk of the show.

The Grongi scenes do drag on in some episodes, but it'd be better to just skip them or watch on 2x speed than to add translations that weren't published until after the show's original broadcast.

There are no Japanese subtitles on those scenes because you aren't supposed to know what's going on. If you were, Toei would've added subs for Japanese viewers during the initial TV broadcast.

How did they change the show's name? And I think you are just nitpicking. Complaining about the subs they put in the opening is stupid. Who cares, it has no effect on the show.

Do you even have any clue as to what the hell you are talking about? When tv-nihon uses typesetting to cover over the Japanese title, THAT HAS ENGLISH ALREADY, just so they can say "yup our translations are right" that is a damn problem. Hey how about fansubbers use Typesetting to white out ALL the japanese credits. I mean that would be ok right? I swear this kind of attitude from fansubbers and fansub watchers is why fansubs are going down hill.

It actually looks good, IMO.

^ Ha.

That isn't the damn point... Man some people just don't get this. Why even fansub the damn **** if you are going to **** it up? But then we are talking about a translator that cut up a Japanese movie, edited it, cut it together, and called it his own cut with fansubs. Nothing surprises me anymore. If the damn show is called KAMEN RIDER DOUBLE in the title leave it as that. The show does not refer to the main rider as:

"Kamen Rider Double-Yew"

I completely agree with this. Fansubbing should be about translating dialogue, not about painting over top of the finished work (the show) with fancy text and stupid effects. They should be respecting the show, not changing things they don't like. Are you guys supposed to be watching an art project or a tv show?

Kuwhuh? :sly:

TV-N's translator edited THE NEXT to make his own personal cut of the film.

There was a video on Youtube showing how fansubbing has changed over time, which makes me miss the good-old-days of VHS subs...:disappoin. Which makes official subtitling (ie. DVDs) the best still.

Everybody is always competing over who can get the fancier effects, etc over the video which distracts the viewer.

Isn't the whole pun that Double and W sound the same as 'Daburu'? So, I mean it's not like they're wrong on that one.

The should is called Kamen Rider Double. You can pretty much hear them say it when ever they henshin in the series. There is no pun here really. And say there was, fansub groups have NO business copying over the Japanese titles.

I dunno, I've been watching a lot of old fansubs lately, and... they're not exactly tops. I think people have some rose-colored glasses going when it comes to old fansubs.

Yeah that fansub documentary is spot on. The people at T-N could stand to listen to that guy.

You act as if they defaced the show in some way. Considering Toei messes around with it's own show names really badly over the years this isn't a big deal.
