And to play devil's advocate...what's wrong with saying "look at us..we so cooooool?"

The filmmakers' goal there would be to have the audience think "wow, they're cool!" and not themselves saying "wow, we're cool!"

Its nice to see that The Bikes look like real Motor Cycles and not Dirt Bikes like the last few KR's

Point taken...Still, to their (filmmaker's credit), at least, SOMETHING comes off as cool. I think this is one of the flashiest OP sequences I've seen, but hey, I like confidence - hopefully they'll live up to it. I prefer the over-the-top bordering on "arrogance" OPs compared to some of the blander OPs that sacrifice this, in order to "tell a story" with their OP sequence.

I don't really think it's a matter of arrogance, I just think it is possible for a opening credit sequence to

1. Present the show as something different then what it may actually be (i.e. Ryuuki).

2. Take itself too seriously (i.e. Garo, but then again that whole show takes itself too seriously).

::laughs:: Somehow whenever I read, "taking itself too seriously" always manages to equate to something I disagree with. Probably the reason why I stopped Garo after the second ep.

Yeah, Ok. Credits do serve more purpose than just to announce themselves, but they stay closely tied to the overall plots of the series. Ie. Agito. Ryuki did manage to present something different - and that works as well, I guess. I don't know, I think we're both saying the same thing - arrogance aside, but I would think that one who'd design such a thing couldn't help putting at least a little bit of themselves in their creation. ::shrugs:: I guess the credits undergo more scrutiny because they are so elemental in setting the tone for a show like KR. It's a different story for Sentai. I guess we'll just have to see which category Kabuto falls under. I hope it's not the 2nd.
