Kamen Rider Gaim - News/Rumors Thread 2: Suffering Incoming

I don't know if Sagara is anything related to the Overlords, he seems like he exists as his own entity so far, he never struck me as being an Overlord like everyone theorized, although I did think it was possible at some point. But he possesses powers that we've yet to see from the Overlords, like taking on the form of a snake or... turning fruit into Lockseeds. Overlords make vines grow, that's about it. His ability to speak their language is probably just part of his, we'll call them, "god powers". I mean if he can turn an orange into a macguffin, it's not too far-fetched he can speak any language too.

With all that's been revealed about Roshuo so far, I'm surprised no one's said that he might represent Kaito. He talks about wanting power, but laments that it wasn't worth it. It's like an old Kaito who realizes too late that his ideals got him nothing, as a friend described it. And his description of his race and how they fought each other is strangely similar to what Yggdrasill's inner workings are doing right now (you also see soldiers who look vaguely like Kurokage Troopers).

It's very confusing, because on the one hand you wanna say this is just a similar world, yet there's parallels that make it seem like the FUTURE. After all, the name Roshuo gives for his former race seems to translate to "Humans" in the Overlord language.

Anything could go down. As usual, I want subs of next weeks episode now.

Not sure if this has been posted or not but here's a pic of most of the Riders in the Gaim movie.

[hide] tumblr_n5qtwax6ns1qbbpyfo1_1280.avif[/hide] It seems Kaito will be using his Genesis Driver in the movie at least in one scene.

The most interesting thing about that picture to me is that Takatora is wearing his genesis driver, which at this point in continuity would surely have been taken by Micchy.

I think this is for the movie, which is set in a different universe.

So the fact that Hase is alive in the picture isn't enough to tell you it's from a different continuity?

The previous scans have referenced Hase and Yuuya "suddenly appearing alive" in front of Kouta and the others though. So, at least, the text wanted to make it sound like the movie takes place in the show's universe.

Of course, it wouldn't be the first time movie scans are basically lying (there was a SHT scan featuring Shadowmoon with the text wondering if he'd finally fight alongside Black even though that had nothing to do with the movie's story). However, it has been more than half a decade since we got a movie that deliberately was set to take place in an alternate universe (like Faiz's, Blade's or Kiva's), as opposed to just having plotholes that make it incompatible with the tv show (like Core and Wonderful). Even the movies with alternate settings we've seen recently, like Wizard's and Gaim's part in Sengoku Battle throw in the actual protagonists into the other world, rather than just having the "other world" exist by itself as a standalone movie.

So, at least at this point, I think "a bunch of weird stuff happens to bring back dead people" is more likely than "movie takes place in an alternate setting deliberately created just for the theater feature". Of course, that doesn't rule out issues similar to the ones that the OOO movies have though, but I'll be really surprised if this is a complete alternate story where Yuuya never died and other radical deviations in the setting, with no connection to the tv show universe.

Pretty safe to say it's an AU story since they've gone over the basic plot recently; It's a setting where they have soccer teams instead of dance teams, and they're competing for the forbidden fruit.

The lack of Kota in that shot makes me wonder if they're saving something for the monthly scans, but it might just be coincidence.

By "they" you mean HJ's news posts though, which have been full of speculation mixed in with facts recently. The only official news regarding the J-League collaboration with Gaim is that it'll be part of the movie's story, not just for marketing. Nothing else has been said.
