Kamen Rider Gaim - News/Rumors Thread 2: Suffering Incoming

Having watched the summer movie on mute (screencapping for references on the movie content), I don't exactly have the most solid opinion of the movie yet, but just from a visual standpoint... this looks hella rushed. Like I'm curious if there's a directors cut since this could be the result of trying to cut down a movie to fit within a specific time frame. If not, I don't know what went wrong.

This is actually the first summer movie in recent years where I kind of wish I had avoided the promotional material for the most part. :laugh: It just doesn't seem like there's as much content there between the key moments from the scans and trailers. I felt like I was seeing a cliffnotes version of the plot with how quickly some things went.

While I'm not too bothered by the wasted opportunity for Jinba Melon, I am definitely calling BS on that scene along with everyone else.

Gaim finds Melon Energy among some other Lockseeds he picks up during his fight with Malus, and they make such a point to show him pick it up... but instead of Jinba Melon, he ends up using Jinba Lemon instead. WOW. They also show him picking up Matsubokkuri and he never uses that either.

I want to know what was going on there. At the same time, I think it's hilarious in some weird way. :laugh:

I have a fanfic adaption of this movie to write at some point soon and I feel the need to include Jinba Melon, that is just a crooked picture frame waiting to be adjusted.

Um.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Drive looks like either a mushroom, a mushroom monster, or one of those Spanish dancers with the large hats with stuff dangling from the brim.

And I never liked the "Rider Arms" in the last Movie War. This is no exception.

Well the design is supposed to look like a samurai kasa, or straw hat that the samurai wore back in the days, and its designed to look like something from Gaim, so it does make sense.

I'm very pleased with what it looks like now that we've seen something other than the toy silhouette. The half blue color scheme works nicely and makes good use of Drive's design, and I imagine the hat is supposed to be combined with the tire to form a fruit, so it makes use of both series' gimmicks. And yeah, the straw hat is a thing traveling samurai wore - something appropriate for Drive who's always traveling.

It's also eye-pleasing to have Drive Arms' chest be unique for this final Legend Rider design, not just Drive's chest. The R crest on Gaim's forehead is also a nice touch. There's some thought going into how both of these look, and I love 'em - a nice final farewell for Gaim and its designs...

Sadly I may be one of few who likes both of them this equally. :laugh:

Well, to be fair, I actually think that Type Fruit is better than Drive Arms.

Hyoudogasa from Gingaman pulled it off better.

Rider Arms is possibly the worst crossover based gimmick. But I don't know which one's worst. This or Final Form Rides.
