Apparently Sanjo wrote this absurdly detailed backstory for NEVER and most of it had to be cut completely from A to Z at the script stage. That meant they had material for a backstory special already prepared, more or less.

I don't think it was ever stated that the back story was material cut from an early script, but he did already write a 4 page short story about that back story in an issue of Toei Hero Max to tie in with the release of the movie.

Also, the performer who played Eternal-- Matsuoka-- was apparently very enthusiastic about coming back to portray the character again. So Matsuoka did interviews saying "Toei should make an Eternal spin-off!" and so Toei did.

Uh... no.

Sanjo wrote a short backstory just to introduce NEVER and people got to see it. It's not complicated at all. If he later decides to write more and to go deeper, that's fine, but it didn't start as like another series or anything.

Matsuoka really enjoyed his character and he made a statement during an interview for the movie that it would be great to have more action, but the joke that was made was about him having an Eternal spin-off series. He got very positive reaction from the fans and it eventually led to his movie. He didn't go nuts with it. Double is popular enough that Skull got his own movie, so it's not far-fetched that Eternal could get his own short direct-to-DVD movies from the support of many fans and the popularity of Double and Eternal.

This.

I have no doubt that W can make money in the theaters. But to have it go against the 40th anniversary movie would be suicide. Which is why a direct-to-dvd release is the best way to see if W movies could one day have a theatrical release, if the dvd sales are sucessful.

Which mean the W movies will be horrible!!

Anyone know if A-Z Gaia Memories of Fate & Goseiger Epic Movies Blu-rays will be released in a combo pack or dual boxed set this coming January?. If so, is there a retail price for it yet?.

and are there any blu-ray cover art pics out yet for both movies?.
