Bah! Remember in the DekaRanger: Greatest Hits thread where we talked of specific episodes, archs, episode numbers... that's what I was looking for, but it doesn't seem like we remember this show as specifically. :disappoin

I've watched and own so much toku **** it's sometimes hard to remember specifics.

I tried to pick out individual episodes, but then found myself just writing about every next episode, so instead I'll just condense them into arcs. Honestly, I can't think of any Blade episodes I really didn't like (and even the ending, while not my favorite, was well-done) so I just went through the whole series. Some spoilers ahead, although if you haven't seen Blade by now...you should have stopped reading this thread a while ago. :eplus2:
The first few episodes (#1~5): As soon as Blade crashes through the wall, I was hooked on this show. The next three episodes are some of my favorites too, simply because all the pieces are set up- and by the time of the fourth episode, at least a few of the mysteries have been solved or partially explained, like the deal with Tachibana in the first episode. The fights are also pretty cool, especially Chalice's first few appearances. And scenes of episode #2 are shot on location in the same place that scenes in the original Kamen Rider (and some of the other series) were done. I'm a sucker for seeing the old places from the 70's as they are today.
The whole Isaka arc (#6~15): Isaka is badass, I really began to feel for Tachibana during these episodes (he's not half as bad as he first appears) and everything is set up for the eventual first appearance of Leangle. The Kenzaki/Hajime rivalry reaches its peak with their 2 big throwdowns (in the warehouse with Garren & Trilobite Undead, and then afterwards when they use the bike Rouzers for the first time.) Some awesome fights, and the final Garren vs. Peacock Undead battle is one of my favorites in all of the recent series.
Early Leangle episodes (#16~19): After Faiz, I was iffy about them using the belt-switching gimmick again, but it works out great, and fortunately this is the only time it's done in this series. Kiryuu was an interesting character, Some great fights scenes, and Old Kaijin Army = Good in my book.
Random High Level Undead episodes (#20~25): Cool fights, cool costumes, Hajime at his grumpy best, some great Tachibana moments ("Can I eat this too?") #24 & 25 are by no means works of art, with the goofy motorcycle storyline but Bah!- I went there, I still think it's cool as hell. And Black Fang is great, it's got Undead emblems on it!
Jack Form episodes (#26~30): Tarantula Undead was a cool character, although that scene in the movie where he attacks Lance is always going to be a little weird now. Jack Forms...eh, not the most creative form upgrades, but I like them. I love #29 & 30 (the goofy Takoyaki episodes) but I also like the Ryuki episodes people always seem to condemn. Guess it's more enjoyable if you understand some of the cultural aspects of it (The whole insult exchange at the beginning of #30 floored me.) :laugh:
More new forms & the Trials episodes (#31~40): This whole arc of episodes was great because it took the show in a darker direction than ever before (it was really getting hard to tell whether this would have a happy ending or not at times) and there were some really interesting concepts. I love the idea behind the Trials- someone else attempting to make their own version of the villains. That Hirose was more than meets the eye himself was cool too, and it was great to see Moritsugu as Tennouji (old, old school actors = awesome). King Form was really cool, Wild Chalice was really cool, and there were some more great Undead. And Joker! A few fights with all 4 Riders together, which is always a cool thing. I just wish we got to see Trial A & Trial C now...
Almost-at-the-end episodes (#41~47): Major plot threads are resolved; missing Undead, Mutsuki, Tennouji, etc. Some very cool episodes with great fights and many dramatic moments. And the Riders unite at last! Titan was a great idea, a nice throwback to the Gelshocker Kaijin and the "imitate the Riders" idea is right out of older Rider shows too. I think the battle with Garren & Giraffa Undead is one of the coolest scenes in the series, and I like that up to that point, they really kept the two characters apart- you wouldn't expect them to fight as viciously as they did.
The End: (#48~49): I prefer the movie version over how the actual series ended, for various reasons, but the end of the TV show was good too, and overall I think it was a lot tighter than the finales for the last two series.
As far as the movies goes, I loved it, it's my favorite of the recent movies, and I'll probably get the director's cut some day.

Again this is because the series was not episodic, this is why Igadevil did those summaries, he explained it himself, he talks about one ep he has to continue on to the next, and the next, etc. Because the overall story is connect between episodes. Deka was overall episodic. Most conflicts were resolved within the same episodes. Thus stands out from the rest.
