Kamen Ride VS Gokai Change

They're both pretty neat with the individual transformation effects and all that, but I have to stick with Kamen Ride. I actually liked how he kept the same belt and had to use his own weapon as some Riders (Blade, Den-O) then used the Riders' weapons when it made sense (Kuuga, Kiva.) There was sort of a limitation to it all, dictated by the cards (and if there's one thing I enjoy, it's giving the super-duper godmode guy some kind of exploitable drawback.)

Although Gokai Change has one thing really going for it over Kamen Ride, and that's that they can become the old guys too. Decade's more limited, and yes I know that his name implies it and all that, but I think the idea is cool enough that it's too bad they blew it on a 10th anniversary rather than a 40th. They even made Kamen Ride cards for the old guys... I would have liked to see Kamen Ride: Shin and Attack Ride: Decapitation, etc.

Somebody needs to photoshop a Decadriver onto Shin's waist! Or... just do some crappy crop and paste using Microsoft Paint..

I think you need to see more Gokaiger with an open eye before you judge it, perhaps, no ? :anime:
Perhaps the same could be said of this entire thread and its existence. Figured if we were having one of these so soon then however early we were into the show didn't matter, right?
You sound here like a newb to sentai and the things that happen in sentai shows...
Hate to say, but you guys are going to have to deal with it. I've been watching and loving sentai since 2K1. It doesn't mean I have to like all of its tropes even now. :)

Also, I love Gokaiger. I made sure to say this over and over again as I criticized its form changes. I kinda figured it'd be glossed over, though. Ahhh, Internet.

The longer the katas and henshins take the more it does tend to hang a lampshade on the idea that the monster is just waiting for them to finish instead of attacking. To me this is not a huge issue just something that occurs to me.

Personally, I'm a fan of the idea that a force field of somekind is created and the monster simply can't get to them unless he just happens to be uber-powerful enough to do so. I also dig the Space Sheriff idea that the henshins are happening between the ticks of a second. For us the viewer it's this long awesome sequence but in real time it's instantaneous so when we see those quick-henshins, we're seeing what it looks like to the monster.

But also to I think there's the idea at work that if you attack an opponent when he's not ready it's cheap and cowardly. Any schmo can attack somebody when they aren't prepared. If you really want to prove your so "badass" then you take your opponent down even when he's throwing all he's got at you. Sure the monsters are malicious under-handed bastards but they got their pride.

I vote Gokai Change simply because when they gain the true power of each set of Ranger Keys and they have an awesome battle with the ORIGINAL THEME MUSIC...it is the most badass thing in existence.
